This place really is worth to visit. It is an old Capuchin convent and have really unique atmosphere. The room was small but clean and well furnished. The window view was awesome and from the terrace even more beautiful - on the Trapani salinas and adjacent lowland. The beutiful mediaval town of Erice is less than 5 minutes ride. There is a private parking, big enough. The staff was friendly. They didn't accept credit cards even if they present they do. Wi-Fi connection worked well. Breakfast was an Italian classic - just sweet stuff, but slightly above average. Overall: unique experience, great choice.

This used to be a convent. The hotel had stunning views and was in a very quiet location. It is a fifteen minute (steep) walk to the charming town of Erice and 40 min drive to Trapani. Sitting on the balcony enjoying the views and the quiet was lovely. Most of the staff don't speak English (I was there for a conference with English speaking staff from the conference on hand to translate). The staff were however very friendly and went out of their way to cater for my very specific dietary requirements. The room was very small but comfortable. The major disadvantage was that any noise in the corridor (people talking, closing door etc.) echoes in the room. Earplugs essential. There is in theory wifi. i couldn't get it to work. If you are looking for relaxed, are not a very light sleeper then this place has a lot of charm.

Visiting from Australia and touring around Sicily my wife and I searched the internet for an hotel near Erice on the north west of the island. We came across Eremo Hotel Casa del Sorriso via Bookings.com. We could not find it nor could the Municipal Police post in Erice. No problem, we phoned the hotel and the owner drove up and we followed her back.

The hotel is an ex convent with high ceilings and tiled floors.  Rooms are on two floors around a central courtyard. There are splendid view from the terrace. Rooms are basic and the on-suite has all the necessary facilities. The surrounding location is quiet and serene. Parking is safe in the grounds of the hotel - away from any undesirables.

I found the bed a little firm but if you want to complain about a hard bed, try travelling around the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico. As you would expect, with so many hard surfaces, tiled floors and the paved courtyard, noise could be a problem. Either drink plenty of wine or do what I do - travel with my moulded ear-plugs, they're perfect for any eventuality. Indeed, general chit-chat in the courtyard did not bother us at all.

Wi-Fi internet access was provided by the owner.

This is a quiet location which may drive the kids mad. However, my wife and I have really enjoyed it here because of its ambience, the very special efforts of the owner, excellent meals with vegetables from their own garden, as well as the proximity to Erice and the Greek ruins at Segesta. If we're around this way again, yes! we'd be sure to book in here.

Unique atmosphere of an old monastery.

Tranquil and relaxing

The convent is a very nice building, surprisingly with elevator,and neat room with the necesities.The breakfast is very good. The only problem is how to get there. The gps doesn't recognize the place , there is no sign and in Erice people didn't hear about it thogh it 5 minutes ride from town.
