I will recommend that beautiful agriturismo to everyone who is looking to spend a relaxing holiday in Sicilia.
This place is perfect if you are looking to stay in unique surroundings with authentic Sicilian decor.
Every room is different, and you will enjoy every moment there. Not only in the room, yard or restaurant but also in the private pool.
Thank you, Filippo, Andrea, Mauro and Salvo, for being great hosts.
You treat every client as a special guest.
I want to send a big hug to Sergio, the chef, for efficiently dealing with my food allergies.
I finally enjoyed food with no gluten or lactose.
I would recommend that amazing Baglio to everyone who wishes to have a fantastic time at the Island.

Amazing experience- Highly recommend

In March I booked to stay here for my holiday in September. At the time the website was showing good availability with several free rooms. At the end of July they contacted me to say my confirmed booking was declined due to an overbooking.

Unreliable!!

Although I was the only guest here I was made to feel welcome not awkward.  

The usual terrible rutted country roads (a common if unsurprising feature when accessing a Sicilian agriturismo) wound through vineyards to get there.  Baglio Lauria is around 40 minutes from the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento. A slightly disappointing first impression from the broken buzzer at the gate but not typical of this nice property. 

The decor in my room (a family room with a spiral staircase up to an upper floor with 3 single beds) was a slightly odd mixture of modern hip (the picture on the wall and bedside lamps) and antique (the massive wardrobe with a hanging rail 2 m above ground!).  Tiny shower cubicle but the heater in the bathroom meant there was ample hot water when I came in after a swim in their lovely, if slightly chilly, little pool which looked out over the vineyards surrounding the property.  As with the other agriturismi where I stayed, the sound insulation was not great - I could hear the family who runs it when they got up early in the morning through the bedroom wall.

The highlight of my stay was dinner.  While I'm quite fussy, by some miracle, the chef guessed brilliantly at what I eat and like.  (If you do have any dietary preferences/allergies I would definitely recommend advising them in advance).  There was no menu, no choice - I was simply brought lots of good food. 

The background music in the dining room was relaxing neo-classical, starting with what I think of as the "Fidelity hold music" - I understand it is Ludovico Einaudi's I Giorni.  My welcoming host (Salvo, I think, though I get the impression every other man in Sicily, and not just Commissario Montalbano, is called Salvo) remained behind the reception desk when not bringing me the next delicious course.

As I was presented with antipasti I realised it would be a meal to expand my culinary horizons and waistband. The antipasti alone would have made a good light lunch: 2 slices of delicious aubergine Parmigiana, 2 stuffed pumpkin flowers with a mix of breadcrumb, cheese & anchovy, red peppers in agrodolce, 2 slices of sausage and bread with Baglio Lauria's own olive oil.  This was followed by penne pasta with tomatoes, garlic, broccoli and a sprinkling of breadcrumbs (the poor man's Parmesan in Sicily).  2 pork involtini (with a stuffing of breadcrumbs, pine nuts and raisins) with a side of spinach followed.  Finally, there was a delicious light, wobbly pannacotta, served with small figs, kiwi fruit and peaches.  The cost of this banquet - only 30 Euros, including a glass of Camilleri Nero d'Avola (made only a few km from Baglio Lauria).

Excellent value dinner a highlight of my trip

Winding through the vines to arrive at Baglio Lauria is a truly special experience and the property itself exceeded our expectations!  Salvo greeted us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome for our whole stay.  He was even very helpful with my Italian language practice!

Our room was comfortable and spacious and looked out over the courtyard and pool to the fields beyond.  The dinners were spectacular and generous and we were so glad to not have to drive anywhere for a delicious meal!

The pool area was also very pretty and inviting and it was hard to tear myself away!

We were also very grateful to be able to do laundry there, since we had packed lightly and were running out of clean clothes by day 5! :)

Charming Rural Escape!

We could only spend one night here but Filipo and Andrea were wonderful hosts. 

It's a long drive, but they made it worth our while. The meal they served us was one of the most memorable in our long holiday to Italy. Four courses of heaven. 

The antipasto were so good I don;t know where to start. Mostly roast and stuffed veggies. Astonishingly good. 

Then a pasta dish with some sort of artichoke & fennel sauce. Unreal. 

Then came the fillet stake. We were so full at this stage that I'm gonna admit something embarrassing—I had to quietly sneak some stake into my pocket for the dogs, because I didn't want to seem ungrateful to the wonderful chef. 

Then came the desert. Some sort of freshly baked chocolate cake with a molten chocolate center, straight out of the oven. Delicious chocolate vesuviusness. The meal cost 28 euro a head (we were expecting double).

This would be a quiet place to chill for a few days by the pool, get away from it all, while dining like a king.

What a meal!

This was one of the best nights I've ever had in Italy. I was in Campobello to visit with some relatives I have never met before. The gal who works the reception (Nancy) helped translate English-Italian with my relatives, which made the visit very special. Later in the evening, Nancy & others that worked at the property invited me to a birthday party and taught me how to plan an Italian card game. They really treated me like family and I had so much fun. 
And, not to mention... the location is gorgeous, the food is delicious and the rooms are comfortable.
I can't recommend Baglio Lauria enough. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime stay!

Felt Like Family!

Baglio Lauria  was the location for night three’s lodging for a trip through Sicily. Each night was a different agritourismo site. Night one and two not a great testament to the quality one might expect or hope for in this type stay. Night three made up for the other two. It is truly a trek through vineyards, almond orchards and olive groves but once we arrived we were warmly greeted, and shown to our simple but very comfortable room. It was clean and outfitted adequately. We were offered an expresso and rested for several hours until a four course meal was served. The food was well prepared and of more than adequate amounts. There was only one other couple staying that night so dinner was quiet, not knowing enough Italian to carry on a conversation. Only two things I’d say not as a negative but constructively. The bed was comfortable but kept quiet only by thrusting a towel behind the head board. The other thing, as farmers we need to be proud of our occupations and inform and educate people about our professions. If you were to come to NYS in the US I’d show you the cattle, the crops that are grown, and why we do it. I’d encourage you to do the same with your farming operation. Very good stay, good food, and quality host. 

One neck of a drive but worth the trip

I regret only staying here one night. Arriving at this peaceful and beautiful place in the countryside we were received by one of the young brothers running Baglio Laurio - sorry I forgot your name! After unpacking in the cosy rooms, we fell into conversation over a beer in the patio with our host, discussing the history of the farm, what they produce now, war history and politics. 
We took a swim in the nice pool overlooking the surrounding landscape. Later we were served dinner composed by the cook; local delicious dishes and good wine. Our waiter was charming and attentive. To wrap up the evening we all gathered outside to watch the World Cup match France - Belgium. A Belgian family was staying at the Baglio as well, so to accommodate them a TV screen was taken outside in the patio. Great night with more talks and discussions :) 
All in all a very pleasant stay here;  beautiful house, pool, landscape - and not the least - very kind hosts. 
By the way - everybody spoke a very good English :)

Like visiting good friends; good food, debating, relaxing and watching soccer :)

Set around ancient farm buildings in a peaceful rural setting. Nice pool with extensive seating area including plenty of shade all with panoramic views of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Room was large comfortable and charming - only minus point being a small shower cubicle where there was room for a huge walk-in job - why??
Breakfast was traditional and good. Evening meals were set-menu fixed price - all traditional Sicilian with 4 courses  - everything was really delicious and more than enough for big eaters - not only was it delicious but also excellent value.
Staff were very welcoming and helpful.
We had a great stay here and thoroughly recommend this place.
