An unplanned stop in Drogheda brought us to this B&B for the night. Lovely and friendly welcome by the Hostess. Our room was lovely and private with our own bathroom. The room was warm, cosy, wifi, tv, tea & coffee facilities. The water was lovely and hot! Breakfast was quick and tasty. Before we left the Hostess made sure all was ok with our stay and we had another lovely chat! Thank you for the kind hospitality! Mr&MrsKelly, Australia

Perfect Last Minute Find!

Booked a Twin & a friend had a Single room on 17th March.  Overnight stay with an early start on Sunday (6:30), so a cold breakfast of cereals, bread, cheese, jam & muffins and Orange juice was laid out for us. We did not see the owner after she showed us the rooms & took the cash.

Good points : Emailed directions were accurate.  Rooms were clean and beds comfortable.
Bad points : Attention to detail,  The batteries were dead in the TV remote & the shower head in the single room was dirty.  The milk sachet for Coffee in the bedroom was curdled.  At breakfast there was no toaster for the bread or a kettle, so no hot drinks available.  The unopened pack of 4 muffins on the breakfast table were 6 MONTHS out of date (24-Sep-2017)

Overnight stay - early breakfast poor quality

The room we stayed in was very nice, clean, excellent bed and nice en-suite.We were very surprised to be asked to pay in cash on arrival - we, and I suspect most people do not carry large amounts of cash. Although not pressurised we felt obliged to go out and get the money.
The water pressure in the shower is low, we needed to tell the owners twice about the cold showers and eventually at our suggestion we were allowed into another room to use the shower.
The breakfast is pretty average, no white or black pudding in Ireland!

Short Stay

When a place wants to charge you when you land in the door and before you've seen the room or anything your heart sinks. Right enough the place was grim, breakfast was rubbish, rooms very basic. Noisy. Maybe it would do for a group out on the town for the night but otherwise I'd avoid. Owners have under invested and it shows.

This is a reasonably priced and clean b&b. However information on their website is incorrect.
1. There is no choice with a hot breakfast. The light breakfast consists of 2 pieces of fruit, a tub of yogurt and a bought muffin.
No brioche, pancake, smoked salmon, cheeses, cold meats etc. As stated on web site.
2. Hot breakfast given to you as you eat your cereal.
3. Toast, sliced white and wheaten. Also given to you whilst you eat your cereal.
4. Asked to pay in cash when you arrive which is ok but we twice asked for a receipt and were not given one.
5. You will never be short of reading material as there are numerous notices on the walls telling you what not to do.

myself and my partner booked into killowen house for one night,,,i was asked if we could book in before 6 pm as she was going out,,,we stayed in a garage which was turned into a bedroom,,,that was ok,,then she asked if we could pay her up front,the price was 95 euro for a double room,,then i noticed on the wall,,,a notice on the wall no food in the room,,no showers after a 11pm,,,no heating in the room,,,on our way back to the b and b my partner triped over a step and hurt herself,,as there was no lighting in the front of the house,,,as for the breakfast you could have put it on a piece of bread,,,i would never recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone ,,,,,,
