Based on good reviews here, I booked this B &B. To call my room basic would be overstating things. 

The en-suite bathroom seemed to be added as an afterthought and shared the window with the bedroom, leaving an open space, diminishing bathroom  privacy

The bed linen was perfectly clean, but the cheap rather grubby doors--indeed the whole tired decor and feel of the place-- screamed 1970s, and doesn't seem to have been updated since then.

The old-fashioned key was very stiff in the lock of my bedroom door, so I had some difficulty opening. The door itself was on a very powerful spring and required some strength to get it open and keep it open.

Breakfast was OK, served to the table. Rasher and egg nicely done, plenty of tea, toast and brown bread. The glass of fruit juice did not look freshly squeezed so I left it untouched. Some fresh fruit---berries, oranges, etc--would have been welcome.

Sancta Maria is very well located with free parking, but the whole place needs a facelift. It has a tired, faded, rather grubby feel.

Well Located, But Needs Total Refurb

Most of the village was sold out and I was ready to drive off and found this little old hotel.  The owner greeted me and offered me a single room with breakfast for @ 95 Euros.  If you’re just looking for a place to crash, this is a great option. It needs to be refurbished and has crickety stairs, but it was clean and the breakfast was nice.    Plus, everything is a short walk; golf club, pubs, restaurants, beach, ice cream, bakery, etc.

No frills @ great location

Overall a good experience. Crisp white bed linen, soft deep clean carpets in our room, which was spacious with a clean spacious en-suite with a large shower. This is an old building & the floors in our room slope however this in no way impacted our stay. The sunroom and dining room would benefit from modernisation. The food options were good and the girls serving it were very pleasant. White linen table cloths and newbridge silverware and large windows balanced the otherwise sad decor. Location is excellent. 3km walk to Ennistymon. Do check out the falls there. And it’s close to the beach in Lahinch too. Good experience. Thanks for having us. 

Overall good. Recommended. 

Son and I stayed here for two nights - excellent small town hotel, that includes a full hot breakfast.  Tom, the innkeeper, is a great person and happy to share his knowledge of the area.  Walking distance to the pubs and restaurants, as well as beach.  Easy drive to Cliffs of Moher.  HIGHLY recommend!!

Excellent Hotel

Thomas and his staff are super friendly and helpful. 
Thomas gave us tips for sightseeing the cliffs that only a local would know. He went above and beyond expectations to reunite our daughter with an item she left behind in the room. He phoned, left VM, and then emailed to ensure he contacted me.
Good breakfast choices, great location, quiet rooms, free parking.
Will stay longer next time.

This is the spot

Have been coming to Lahinch for 20 years and it was a pleasure to stay with Tomas and the team in Sancta Maria.  Situated 2 minutes from the town, beach and golf course it is ideally located.  It is obvious a lot of effort has gone into upgrading the rooms over COVID, with a modern feel to the rooms we were in that is complimented by the overall charm of the residence.  Tomas couldn't be more helpful and went over and above to assist when I left an item behind me.  Will be back again before the end of the summer.

Golf Weekend

Stayed for 4 nights at the Sancta Maria Hotel in Lahinch in August. The guest house is a little dated but spotlessly clean and well appointed. Rooms are a good size with a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and helpful
The breakfast menu was varied and was perfectly cooked and fresh. The owner gave me a discount because one of our group did not stay,which was really appreciated. Highly recommended and hope to visit again soon.

Lovely place to stay in Lahinch

We recently stayed here with my parents and our two children. Couldn’t recommend the place enough. The staff were so friendly, the breakfast was absolutely fantastic and the location of the place in relation to town was just perfect, we walked everywhere. Our two children are four and three and as you can imagine active and the hotel staff and Tom were amazing and had so much patience with them and interacted with them helping us in any way they could! I liked the old style of the hotel and rooms so clean. Very reasonable priced also.Definitely stay here again on our next visit to Lahinch.

Staycation 2021

Tom is an absolute legend of the game! Nothing was too big or too small of a request. The rooms are spotless and equipped for all your needs. I love the old style decor I think it adds to the character of the hotel for that homely feel. Breakfast was a solid 10/10 and catered for GF! The breakfast staff were amazing and so friendly. If you want a stay for an excellent rate, good breakfast, superb location and quality hospitality The Sancta Maria is the place for you!

A Real Hidden Gem!

The owner is a lovely, helpful man and very easy to communicate with. Breakfast was delicious, staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Beds are very comfortable. Very central hotel, less than a 5 minute walk from the main town. Would definitely recommend a stay in the Sancta Maria Hotel!!
