Peter is the most thoughtful, kind, caring Man. It was a Blessing that I ended up here. Thank You again Peter. The beds are blissfully comfortable, the heating is always on - no problem with heating, best shower ever, fridge, microwave, electric blanket, water, fresh milk, fresh flowers, beautiful lounge for guests, complete privacy and peace. I loved my stay immensely. Everything is thought of just for you. Most relaxing comfortable home & You'll love Peter take care of him :)

We ended up staying here due to a busted pipe at the place we had booked originally...what a happy accident! Peter runs the most comfortable and welcoming B&B we stayed in during our two week trip across the country. It really felt more like a home than just a collection of rooms. He was quick with tips that helped us on our travels and had no issues letting us stay an additional unexpected night. The breakfast options were delicious and plentiful, and you just can't beat nutella and strawberry pancakes! I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend this place to anyone!

American Smiles!

This is a very clean and lovely B&B.  Peter is quite a character.  He is so laid back and humorous...very charming.  He had a fire going in the fireplace and you could smell he was cooking something delicious in the kitchen.  Breakfast was phenomenal and very filling.  Of the three B&Bs that we stayed in, this was my favorite. 

Great B&B

Peter is very welcoming and friendly. His breakfast spread is amazing and he happily catered for us coeliacs. The kids loved the pancakes! Peter was very helpful with his directions and recommendations  for places to see and eat. The room was clean and comfortable and a good size for us as a family of 4. The sitting room down stairs made you feel at home. A great location and quiet considering the road the house is situated on. Thank you for a great stay!

Very homely and great for families

The parking in front of the B&B is adequate with room for probably eight cars.   The Rockfield B&B sign is not lighted and difficult to see at night.  Peter, the host, did carry both our big suit cases to the top floor room.  He did welcome us and offered some advice on dining including a popular fish-and-chip shop in downtown Killarney. 

Room 8 on the third floor was a bit of a disappointment as I hit my head on the slanted ceiling several times.  The room and bedding were clean, but the room had poor lighting. There were just two dim lights in the bedroom and one in the bathroom.   The bigger chairs on either side of the bed made the room seem even more crowded.   The chairs should be smaller for the size of the room. Also the mirror in the bedroom should be raised or changed to an actual full length mirror. The TV worked but there were few channels. Also, Wi-Fi didn’t always work up here and when it did it was slow. I received several “out of range” messages on my Chromebook and the same on my iPhone. We did not hear noise from other guests during our stay. 

We had a good breakfast both mornings during our visit.  Actually, this B&B had one of the better breakfast spreads of any of the four B&B’s during the trip.   Everything is laid out under plastic covers or the hot items in aluminum warming trays.    I enjoyed the cereal with almond milk, fruit, scrambled eggs, thinly sliced cold salmon, brown and white bread, toast, Canadian bacon.  The eggs and bacon were hot as expected. They also had other fruit including bananas, kiwi, oranges. A toaster and pancake maker are on the buffet table too. Juice, coffee and tea were served of course.  

Peter did give us a good tip about using the Shannon Ferry instead of driving the long way through Shannon itself.  It saved us at least two hours.  

Overall the B&B was good, however I cannot recommend this particular room 8 for tall people unless they are hard headed.
