Just returned from a 1 night stay in the wonderful Oystercatcher Lodge in Carlingford. I have to say this was just a last minute pick for us, but what a gem. From the very first encounter with Mariena at reception the whole experience couldn't have been better. The premises was pristine, the room was fantastic, very big, very clean and very comfortable, with a fabulous ensuite bathroom with a very large shower. The location is just perfect right in the middle of the village with great restaurants, pubs and all that goes with that. My first time in Carlingford and won't be my last. One night is definitely not enough as there are many activities available right on your doorstep. I have travelled to many a far distant land and had some great experiences, but I have to say Carlingford, which is only a 1 hour 45 minute trip from my home is right up there with anywhere I have visited. I will definitely be returning and for a couple of nights next. Thanks to all at the Oystercatcher for a fabulous experience.

Best night out in a long time

This is the worst place ever had this booked from last year confirmed in June . On way down called to advice I would t be long to be told their was no booking and had to drive back home. No help given on consideration at all was a Christmas gift and blamed me for not having an email which I was never asked this information. Avoid at all costs worst service I have every received the owner hasn't even rung to even apologise

Worse experience ever

The Oyster catcher was exactly what we wanted travelling with a small pet.  Unfortunately the accommodation could do with some renovations ....  floor, bed, curtains - which was not an issue for us.   Supply of towels and toilet paper was excellent.  The cleanliness of the room wasn't up to scratch.  Finding past guest s hair clips and roller in various places in the room.  The bin under the sink had been emptied and new bin liner in but when we took it out to be more accessible to us the over spill from last guests was there.  Spillages on floor from sink to fridge area.  The floor could have been swept. The shower head kept falling down...needs a new holder. The towel rail is just about to come away from the wall...
The couch had to be wiped down though that could have been dust coming in the windows.  
If ever we were coming back this way we would stay as it was just what we wanted.. just a little more attention to be given to the physical cleaning of the room

Perfect Location needing a little revamp and upkeep

first of all it was so easy to find and the parking was brilliant even on a busy day like st patricks day ..we were greeted by Mairena who couldnt do enough for us ..she was great ..and the room was spacious ,very clean and everything we needed i would thoroughly recommend staying here ..the shops are 30 seconds away as is the pubs and good food on every corner i cant complain 

book this if you can

I honestly don't think we would ever stay here again. Not a very pleasant welcome in the office to start. Room very basic and actually quite dark even though there were 2 not very clean windows. Curtains could've needed a wash as so the fridge with the cracks and spills on the base. Maybe OK for hens or stags but not 2 older people who like a bit of luxury. Quite expensive for what was offered. Realised could have stayed in a beautiful B&B not much further and got breakfast included. Very disappointing 😡

Short break.

Big room, clean, basic, perfect for what we wanted, good bathroom. Perfect location to explore Carlingford and service. People were very kind. Highly recommended. Parking spaces for car. Excellent for the weekend.

Great location to explore Carlingford

This was a really lovely lodge with huge rooms. Almost like a bedsit with fridge and microwave and tea coffee. Really reasonably priced and parking is free. Its very centrally located with everything on your doorstep.

Really big rooms and very close to everything

Checked in for a one night stay recently and was surprised by the quality of the room when we checked in. The bed was huge and very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. Due to current restrictions we spent most of our evening staying in the room with a bottle of wine and really enjoyed the night. We had room 4 on the ground floor which was right beside the street but was still quiet and felt very private. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the town. Would definitely stay again when I go back to Carlingford.

Comfortable, Modern Room

Stayed here for a night.
Lovely woman who checked us in, very friendly.
Our room was spacious, couch in room.
Small fridge, comfortable bed.
Tea and coffee provided. Toiletries were provided as well. The room was clean.
Will stay again when visiting the area.
When we checked out, the gentleman allowed us, to leave our car in car park.

Location 

We had an amazing stay at The Oystercatcher Lodge. Friendly welcome clean fresh beds in a large bright Airy room. Ahead of our visit we asked if they could put some Birthday Banners up which they did. We also enjoyex our complimentary Bottle of Presseco. Which we thought wS a lovely Gesture
 We would absolutely recommend The Oystercatcher Lodge to everyone. We will definitely be back soon.
