As always, Krishna, Tinku, and now manager Raj are running an excellent guesthouse on Lal Ghat.  Their guesthouse "Greco House" is my favorite place to stay in Udaipur. The hospitality offered is second to none.  They will be attentive to your every need.  Excellent location with beautiful views.  This is your best choice for a guesthouse stay when in Udaipur!

Feels like going home!

I have been travelling for the past 5 years and have been in India for the past 6weeks. To date, Greco House has been the best place that i have stayed for the myriad of reasons that follow.

Most importantly is that the owners (Tinku and Krishna) and staff at Greco welcome you as they would a family member into their own home! The genetleman running (and those managing) the establishment go out of their way to accommodate guests and make them really feel that they have arrived in a “home away from home! They are knowledgable about the area and always ready to give advice and suggestions about what to see,eat and do in the Old City of Jaipur! 

The rooms are comfortable,clean, and the A/C worked an absolute dream. It really makes all the diffence when to come back to a welcoming and comfortable room when youre travelling!

Greco House is situated in the Picuresque and historically rich Old City of Udaipur. It is close to Lake Pichola, the Palace Complex, Jagdish Temple and a whole variety of activities, restaurants and cab stands! Additionally, the sunsets are something more magical than real as you have the BEST view of the entire lake, lake Palaces and the city as it transforms from golden sunsets into city lights at night. Owing to the position of Greco House, the sunrise are equally as mesmerising! Side Note:I’m not joking about that, the sunsets and sunrises are UNREAL.

Rajasthan is known for its wonderful textiles and fabrics and you are situated close to many a shop in the Lal Ghat where Greco House is situated. Krishna (part owner of Greco House) along with his Brother Mayenk have various shops throughout the district. We shopped at their “Fabric Ashoka” Emporium (owned by their father and grandfather before that) and purchased an amazing array of QUALITY fashionable  clothing, fabrics, throws, amazing artworks which were all conveniently posted back home! NOTE: As guests of Greco House you are considered family and we were given an unrivalled price on amazing items!

There is a Chef at Greco, his name is Keshu and He is an absolute CULINARY WIZARD! In the 8 days, and countless meals, enjoyed at Greco house I was ALWAYS blown away by what Keshu served! His menu is diverse and amazing and he is able to literally whip up any feast both Foreign and Indian!

Tetstamnent to how good of a place the Greco House is that there are people that stay there for a large portion of the year and who keep coming back to Greco year after year. Big shout out to AnnaJi, Lydia and Ash, you ladies rock and it was such a pleasure!

Ill put my good name and vouch for the Gentlemen that own and run the Greco House. If you come to Udaipur please stay here. I swear you wont regret it. I  left with many a friend and indeed a new family. I am so happy and privileged to have stayed at Greco House and to have met some one the finest Indian Gentleman who own and run this establishment!

Why you HAVE to stay at Greco House if you visit Jaipur.

Can’t say enough about the wonderful hospitality Tinku, Krishna, Keshu and GiGi provide. They have the most welcoming and lovely energy and are super helpful with anything and everything you could need. We instantly felt at home. The rooms are super comfortable and clean, and the rooftop is one of the best views for sunset you can get. Great location, you can easily walk to anything you need. Definitely would recommend this place, we can’t wait to come back :)

The best!

It is the must go place in Udaipur. Hotel with the best view in the town. 
- The view is mesmerizing from the rooftop restaurant.
- Food is finger licking good.
- Staff behaviour is very good. 

Overall the mix of everything good is GRECO HOUSE. Everyone must try once.

The little paradise.....

Jan'19 we visited Greco House. This is the peak season for travellers in Udaipur.
Property - Congested but with good height. Terrace is good to sit and chill. Staff lit fire for us to be warm. There is no parking available around this property. I dont recommend for people travelling by their own vehicle, to stay near Jagdish temple.
Rooms - Small but enough to fulfill your needs. Washrooms are way too small, but hygienic and clean. A bit of sunlight from window comes in the morning till late afternoon.
Service - Slow. Only one person Keshu fulfilled our demands else everyone including manager refused for every stuff we asked for. If we sit in terrace, and order something, they literally forget our orders and after an hour's wait we have to go down to take follow ups.They only change towels on demand. People living generally in Greco House are on long term basis and hence, room service was done only on demand. For 3-4 days, this is not something worth staying.
Food - Very less options in menu. However Keshu will try his best to serve you what you asked for. They dont serve food in your room and generally ask you to have your  breakfast/lunch/dinner in the small restaurant.
Cons - The restaurants (terrace and inhouse) are always crowded. Stay here if you are group of friends and have low budget.
Pros - City Palace, boat to Jalmahal, bike rentals, various restaurants are all at a walkable distance from Greco House.

Average Budget Hotel

I can't understand the reviews....It took 7 minutes for someone to come and greet me and help me with my suitcases upon arrival and the staff was not aware of my booking. The room looked nothing like the pictures and the "bathroom" was dirty. 
Now, even worse, I later learn by someone else that the staff informed a local tout I had met earlier about my leaving the hotel for a walk. Upon stepping out in the street, the tout was there, ready to harass me and I thought it was a mere coincidence. 
I changed hotels the next morning. The staff could not care less. For those who think the rooftop view is a pro, many other hotels have rooftop views on the lake.

Avoid !

f I could give Greco House minus 10 stars, I would.  I booked a 6-week room starting December 1, 2019.  2 weeks into my stay, I was hospitalized with Dengue Fever and was amazingly incapacitated.  I stayed in the hospital for 4 days.  On my 3rd day of hospitalization, Tinksa came to my hospital room and informed me that the hotel was closing, and I needed to vacate my room immediately!  I was so ill that I could barely lift my head off of the pillow in order to say  "WHAT?"  He also insisted that I pay him monies even though I had made a 2-week deposit for the room several months prior.  I told him that there was no way I could move out of the hotel while in the hospital, and where did he expect me to go?  Could I find a hotel room while I could barely get out of bed?  Tinksa kept insisting that he was "my friend"  yet still insisted that I vacate my room today and pay him additional money.  Only because I have a great Indian friend who came to my rescue and intervened, would I be homeless and broke.  DO NOT EVER STAY HERE!!!!  Their slogan is "you will feel like family here."  I really do not want to be part of this dysfunctional "family!"
