We visited this hotel while returning from Darjeeling to NJP. We had our lunch in the restaurant of this Hotel. Mr. Suraj Krishna Pillai and his team attended to us. They were extremely courteous, polite, warm and helpful. Food was freshly made, quickly served and very very tasty. Its a pure vegetarian restaurant and very neat and clean. We would love to return here again and stay at the hotel. The employees had a constant smile on their faces and their warm, happy behaviour reflected in the way they greeted and treated us as guests. It's a good hotel indeed. 

Warm Hospitality! 

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Mayor. It is very centrally located and the staff are very nice. The front desk attendant Tapasi was outstanding and very polite. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Hotel Mayor to everyone!!

Very comfortable stay!!

I am a frequent visitor at this place.Room are nice,clean with all amenities at affordable prices.They also offer separate hall for get together,meetings and all...all types of cuisines with alcohol are served here...

Best place for get-together,party,stay etc

Rooms are good at a good rate . But Bathroom needs to have an ODONIL / ROOM FRESHNER .Secondly suddenly the Hotel has become Veg and this reduces the choice of food both A LA CARTE as well as in Breakfast Menu .. Other facilities are too good to complain .

Standard maintained but Improvement required

On arrival experience was quite good.  You have separate parking for your vehicles.  Hotel staff was helpful. Room was clean & spasious. In hotel facilities were quite good. Dinner was testy & very good service however lot of smoking inside hotel.  They have non smoking rooms for dinner however you will face some smell as they were attached. 
Overall good & recommend for business travelers however it may be quite not comfortable for family. 


Excellent Hotel 

One of the worst service provider I have ever experienced,
No slippers in the washroom 
The hotel has nothing more that that is provided in the room: example ( medicines, weighing machine, multi plugs ) , we asked these and nothing was available.
House keeping didn’t even refill soaps and basics at the end of the day.
No locks in the wardrobe is provided.
Shower wasn’t working.
I would suggest people to look for alternatives rather than hotel mayor ( mayur)

Look for an alternative hotel than HOTEL MAYOR OR MAYUR

Post COVID things have changed a lot 
The same I have noticed with Hotel Mayor 
Horrible service - They don’t even charge the bedsheet and pillow covers & Towels of previous guest
 Very poor hygiene 
Unprofessional behaviour from  Mr Pellai the F & B incharge 
Hopefully the service will improve in future !

Horrible experience with Hotel Mayor

We had stay in this hotel many times before and for the rates they charge it was pretty  okay. This time we booked a 24th to 26th  through make my trip.  The hotel had totally gone downhill. The aTV was all locked. They had not subscribed to any channels. The hotel had suddenly turned vegetarian and this was not mentioned in make my trip. Make my trip need to update hotels they list regularly. This is the third disappointing hotel we have booked through them. Some have been good.   

Improvement required

The room itself was very ok. The AC remote was not working so we couldnt change the settings. It was either on or off. We had requested non-smoking rooms but our room had an ashtray in it and was stinking of smoke when we entered. We complained to the reception but they refused to change our room and instead sent housekeeping to us who didnt know what he was there for. We had to make him put some air freshner but that just masked the smell for a little while. The bathroom was very poorly designed as well, the shower curtain fell on the toilet seat and was about 1 foot beyond the shower cubicle separator. This meant that the bathroom got wet when you had a bath. The geyser was also not working well and only gave hot water for 3-4 minutes. 

The other guests at the hotel were drunk and rowdy. There were a couple of inebriated gentlemen who were in their undergarments in the "conference room" near our room and were screaming and shouting till the early morning hours. All complaints to the reception fell on deaf ears. One of the people who answered the phone actually tried to tell me that a family was just checking in and the noise would die down in a few minutes. It was really shocking!

The location is also in the centre of the city but in the market area for hardware and lights etc. There are no decent restaurants nearby and the noise throughout the day is deafening!

Looking forward to never going back!!!
