Very tastefully done up place ,with excellent service . Fine balance of French and Tamil cultures. 

It has a nice swimming pool too, which was a surprise, and the location from the beach is less than 500 MTR walk. 

All around all wonder cafe's and restaurant, it's quite at the heart of the white quarters.

A perfect choice to stay

We were a family  of 15 staying at this sweet villa . It’s at a vantage point as far as location goes . 5 min from beach . N in the French quarters . It’s a great place to stay if you have a big group . Big rooms ( except one ) a small cute pool for kids ( n a good prop for pics ) , lazed out open spaces for evening chats , top floor for a chatty dinner . The chef is good n catered to our odd hour requests . The owner Roshan is an excellent host . He is there to help you out anytime . We did our city tour also with him . La Closerie is a perfect place to stay with friends and family .

Sweet French villa in French quarters

We booked a large room . The photos seem large and elegant . Very overpriced for this low quality. No windows in room not furnished as photo  no bathroom supplies  2 PowerPoints for 3 peoples computers and phones 📱  our daughter had to make the bed herself and ask for a towel . The staff was very unprofessional but friendly .  The young boy who checked us in didn’t really know what he was doing.  There is no chair or wardrobe 
I stayed at this hotel before but it had a different owner and was a family rum business. The common area is not really clean and taken care off

Not what we paid for

Paid Rs 15200 in advance for 2 nights. Got Room 2,ground floor. No window at all. Three of 6 spot lights hanging out of their sockets and not working. Nowhere to place suitcase to unpack. No drinking glasses. No ventilation at all in the sealed bathroom. Two of 6 spots worked rest falling out of the ceiling. Mirror cracked . Toilet bowl and seat stained.One bar of soap and nothing else. No toilet hand shower. Seedy and unmaintained
Reception/ house manager on duty from 9.30 to 18.30. Otherwise property is unmanned. No security at night. Nothing available in this hotel except breakfast . That is spartan with filthy old mugs.The toast is toasted on one side only which epitomizes the meanness of this hotel. The so called pool is chipped, full of leaves and deteriorating. The owner should be thoroughly ashamed.. Avoid this place at all cost. You have been warned

Caveat Emptor- Buyer Beware

The place looks very artistic . But facilities are lacking. There is no health faucet in the toilet. Apparently the owner is an European and didn't want it. But one should mention this in the site if you are only toilet paper friendly.
Basic amenities like drinking glasses, kettle to heat water are lacking. And the irony is there is no one around to ask. Understaffed and poorly managed. 
The only positive is the location but there are hundred others in the same budget that provide much better value for the money.
And surely better service

Very dissapointed

This place is so beautiful, every corner of the hotel is nicely done. It has a wonderful ambience and is a perfect place to unwind.  We had the most relaxing time at this cute little hotel. The staff is super helpful and polite, so is the owner. I would love to go back! 

Serene and cosy! 

Complete colonial house and feel like u went into back to 18th century! Nice home, architecture, nice staff but for food i ll give 0 point. Breakfast not at par with normal basic level, but yes staff is so helpful. If u are looking for complete hotel stay then big no, its a home not a hotel!! But i love it

We stayed at their newly opened property which had its teething issues. A/c not working , mosquitoes etc. which is fine , however the staff are generally too “busy” to be hospitalble. No kettle in the room asked for coffee and it won’t come because they were busy making breakfast ( which btw is bread and butter , store bought, don’t expect any fruit with it!) . Overall ok for a day or 2 . Definitely not recommended with family as they’re prolly used to back packers and will not cater to the special needs of kids ( extra milk etc ) without frowning at you .

Unpleasant staff, so-so hotel

Lovely house but run by novices. I ended up shelling out a lot of money for a below average experience. Consider the CGH property around the corner which gives you a better quality for similar price. Price and room type is unclear at the time of booking and hence make sure you know what you are booking. They expect payment via bank transfer before your stay, which I felt is not very convenient.

Overpriced for a basic stay. No value for money

We stayed there for 5 nights. The first impression of the property was just amazing. Very beautifully designed property and so peaceful. A must recommended stay for any age group. The breakfast is also simple and tasty. The ladies who were serving us breakfast were all so friendly and polite. We loved Viji, she was really friendly and always smiling. These type of things really did make our stay pleasant and happy. We were looking for a peaceful trip and we got it. Thank you to the entire team who takes care of that place. 
We will definitely visit this place again.
