Malis Apple Lodge

Arrived late after an awful 9 hours of traveling. We were met from the taxi and it felt like we were welcomed home. Even though it was getting late, they cooked us a tasty meal, as other places around would have stopped serving at that time. The family who own Apple Lodge are incredibly friendly and welcoming - they cannot do enough to help you, and they are full of really useful information too. It's run as a homestay, and we really felt at home throughout our stay. The house is set a little back from the road, and is surrounded by apple trees. The views from the balcony are beautiful- it's certainly a very peaceful spot. The food is absolutely delicious- the vegetables are fresh from their garden, the chutneys were also homemade, and the ghee and curd was from their cow. I can honestly say that the food cooked in their kitchen is some of the best I've had in India- so fresh and such depths of flavour. They cooked siddu? (a steamed stuffed bun) especially for us, as we were curious to try it. The price of the food was also very reasonable! The room itself was very clean, spacious and comfortable- had an ensuite fan room. It even had a kitchen area in a separate room. (Really useful if you want to stay a bit longer.) It really was excellent value for money! The wifi worked well, and the shower had hot water. We would definitely stay here again - Thank you Malis Apple Lodge for your hospitality!
