Our stay was great! The rooms were clean and the location was great - it was a quick walk to see Godafoss and we made the trip both in the morning and the late afternoon. The breakfast the next day was delivered to our room. We had so much in our goody bag that we were able to eat the apple and yogurt for breakfast and the sandwich and cookie for lunch. Our host was very, very kind and provided a great recommendation for dinner. 

I was especially tickled to hear of the two siblings who escaped the neighboring ranch (and inevitable slaughter), not once, not twice, but four times!  The rancher granted their freedom and they come down to visit the hotel regularly. 

I definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean. Loved the fact that they had two pillows per bed....yeah!!  Our host was very kind. We had a great breakfast delivered to us the next morning in a lovely bag. There was so much we ate half of it for lunch!  It was great walking to Godafoss in the evening and next morning.  The two visiting sheep were awesome and came with a great story!  I am rallying behind the two siblings who managed to escape their fate, not once, not twice, but four times!  I highly recommend this lovely hotel.

The grass area next to the guesthouse is for camping and it was a great site. Perfect location for the falls and not crowded at all. The woman at the reception in the guesthouse was very friendly and answered all of our questions. The campsite is basic, basically just the grass but it was all we needed. The bathroom is in a shipping container type building and is not separated by gender but that wasn’t a problem. The hot water was nice and the bathrooms were clean. There are 2 showers (included) inside which were nice and warm but it was pretty cold outside and since the bathroom building isn’t heated, it was pretty cold for me once I got out of the shower. Other than that, everything was perfect for our road trip. 

The restaurant is super and was the best meal we had in Iceland. The mushroom soup and lamb are some of the best we have ever had anywhere, with incredibly fresh ingredients. 

Our compliments to the chef and the service we received was excellent and friendly too. 

We too stayed in the campground only a few weeks after new owners took over.  The campground is smallish and sheltered and close to the house and restaurant.  It is rather basic but has a bathroom with shower.  I believe upgrades are planned. The owners were cheerful, efficient, helpful and enthusiastic.  The location could not be better for visiting Godafoss and surrounds.  We had an amazing meal at the restaurant.  Every bite was extraordinary--yes the best meal in Iceland!  The new owners have ambitious plans for upgrades and new services.  I can't wait to return to see how they fare.

We stayed here only two weeks after this property was bought and taken over by new owners, and it sounds like many things will be changing for the better. So to start: the service provided by the new staff and owners was fantastic. Very friendly, with great advice and very willing to please and help. They seem very dedicated to making this a great place to stay! The rooms themselves are very, very basic right now, with linoleum floors and not very comfortable beds, but it sounds like the plans for renovations are in place. The restaurant is good and very reasonably priced for Iceland. Breakfast was basic but they left everything for us to access even though we were late. For dinner or breakfast, try to arrive early enough to get a window seat facing the waterfall! The location is perfect - you can see Godafoss from the restaurant and some room windows. Bottom line: if you come yet in this fall 2018 season, expect great service and location with adequate, somewhat comfortable rooms. It you come in 2019, I think you can expect a very comfortable, perfectly located hotel with similarly great service.

It’s location! Just opposite Goddafoss. The beds and room were basic but comfortable, clean and warm. There’s a kettle and coffee and tea. No fridge. We had 2 rooms with a shared bathroom in between. The breakfast and restaurants have great food.
The shower was a little small and no place to put your stuff. There is just 2 hooks so we put our things in plastic bags and hung them from the hooks. Could be great to have some shelves there.

Great service

Enjoyable comfortable stay

We spent a night at the Guesthouse. We slept in a little nice studio well trendy decorated. The bedding was comfortable and everything was very clean. The bathroom is nice and clean, but a bit small. The staff is nice.

;(: even we slept in an all renovated little studio, the isolation between the studios is not tight: we hear the others guests too well...

A part of the building (but not ours) was still in renovation and that is why we received a nice take-away breakfast, (without tea or coffee). We were properly informed of that by the owner before we arrived , with possibility to cancel if we want. This was a really fair proposition that we appreciate a lot.

The location is really near the Godafoss. There is a shop next door, very usefull.  

There is a lot of tourists who come and go, but you can benefit from visiting the Godafoss after the tourist’s rush and taking pictures. In brief, very nice but very expensive.

I have been trying to call this facility for 2 days with no answer. I believe I left something important there when I visited 2 days ago and would like to talk with someone about it. Even my travel agent cannot reach them. Very frustrated.

I will be happy to update my review if someone from the facility will contact me.
