ECH has the perfect location for visiting Győr. It is next to the National Theatre, only a few minutes walk from Széchenyi tér, the heart of the city. We booked on the internet and got what we were looking for: a clean and modern room with a nice bathroom. The room (we had #2) is advertised as 23 m2 – well, probably with the bathroom included. There is a double bed (but in this room you must either crawl into the wall-side place on the bed or try to get in sideways between the foot of the bed and the wall with a TV-set on it, you have about 25 cm’s to do this. Other than that, the room is fine, there is a good table with two chairs to have breakfast (you have to provide it yourself), a fridge and a microwave oven. Some plates and cutlery provided. The bed is a good double bed with a comfortable mattress (a tiny bit too soft for my liking). The bathroom is clean with a good shower box, not too large but fits the purpose. The windows open to an inner courtyard, heating is excellent so we could leave the windows open a crack. The day before arriving we got a message from the host (Éva) who told us to call her when we are in front of the building. When we arrived, she explained how to get in (the keys were in a safe box at the entrance), and at check out we just left the keys with the cleaning lady. Éva asked us if we wanted cleaning during our stay and we said no, thanks - it was a mistake, because they didn't enter the room even for emptying the garbage bin. Next time we'll know better. We had a chance to peek into the other rooms. They are also very nice (maybe #2 being the nicest) and they don’t have the ‘climb into your place’ problem. You should clear these details when booking your room. For staying a few nights this may be your best choice.
