The room is nice if you just need a place to shower and sleep. The mattress and the pillows though were highly uncomfortable and a hair dryer was not provided. The amenities (shampoo and shower gel 2 in 1) were really low quality. Hot water 24/7.

Value for money

The hotel is a central location, quite good for short visit.The price is fair, although it could be a bit cheaper. Not expect much, but the stuff is friendly and talkative. I have stayed quite a few times in this hotel, usually for short stay of up to 3 nights.

Fair

I stayed there for 5 nights and had a quite pleasant time due the good price and nice location. The building is around 100 years old and has been renovated. The staircase is full of marble and the rooms are arranged in a circle (see photos). You get shampoo and soap / toilet paper plus a fridge, tv, a/c. In case you need any kitchenware there is a room which has cutlery and plates. Very limited but you might be lucky. 

Pros:
- the price for sure.
- room size is partly very big.
- sometimes you have your own balcony.
- location (more or less in the center and 10 mins walk to the train station).
- stores just around.
- private rooms. (Backside rooms are more quiet but probably darker).
- the wifi was actually not too bad.

Cons:
- no isolation on the doors as they are old (but nice) so you can hear whats happening outside.
- the sheets are a bit too short for the beds.
- the beds are very soft.
- no elevator (in case you have troubles carrying heavy).

In general this place is certainly a recommendation as you get private rooms for a very good price in a wonderful, vintage building.

GOOD BUDGET PLACE IN AN HISTORICAL BUILDING.

If you do not want to overpay for an overnight stay in the center of Thessaloniki then 
Hotel Kastoria will suite you. You can get there from airport by bus 1X for 2 euro. and you will pay about 20 euro for single room. Toilet and shower in the corridor. Plenty of coffee houses and restaurants around.

Very economical housing in the center of Thessaloniki

The hotel is old but clean. Good for stay 1-2 nights. Safe and warm. Location is great, close to bus station, airport bus just next the door almost. Old town in short walking distance. Plenty of good restaurants all around. Friendly and helpful staff speaking English, vary patient. Shared bathroom and toilet and there was a sink and a mirror in the room. The matrasses were not so comfortable and my boyfriend was complaining but the rest was ok!

Cheap, good locations

10/10 - I would stay here again.

Really - this hotel has charm. If you're looking to spend basically no money and still have a bed and a place to sleep or be with your partner on holiday, it's perfect. 

Cons - one of the cups was dirty in the room - washed it in the sink with the provided soap.
Shower lost hot water after 3 minutes, but after a minute of waiting it came back.
Small holes in sheets.

The people who gave this hotel 1 star are the kind of people who should be willing to spend more money if they're looking for more. Who books a 1 star hotel, and then gives it 1 star for things like "people smoke in the living room and the receptionist doesn't speak English." This is Greece. It's cheap. It works. If you want a better hotel and those amenities are important for you, book a more expensive hotel.

Don't complain if you get exactly what you paid for - everything exceeded expectations for a 1 star hotel.

Guys if you stay there, you must be prepared. Budget hostel, good location but a s**thole! Old, not accessible, dirty and various types of attendees and occupations if you know what I mean...
Never back there.
Better on a bench!

Hahaha! Ridiculous

Staff a bit variable but I found it to be clean, and a fone old building that I could imagine with love and imagination could be a very fine hotel...maybe thankfully not yet because it is currently very good value. The negative  reviews are so excessive that I wonder if they are genuine with many going from new TA members.

Quirky but great value and location

This hotel is quite simple, as expected taken into consideration that it is a one star-hotel. Our room was simple with two beds and shared showers and toilet. We only stayed there one night, which was enough for us, although it was good as we got all the help and service we needed from the staff! The location of the hotel is good - we had all the best sights of Thessaloniki within walking distance!
