I found this place on the internet and we were more surprised when we arrived.  The location was great, the rooms were inviting.  Emmanuel and Antonio made us feel welcome the moment we arrived and went out of their way to make sure that we had everything.  Breakfast in the indoor garden is a must. The location was very central, near the bus station, beach and the old city.  A great place to stay if you are a couple or a family.  I highly recommend it.

A great place to stay

Sohora provided all that we needed and then some. It was convenient to everything, bus station, restaurants, bakery, museums, Venetian port. The decor was quirky but the space was functional and the terrace was an outstanding asset where had breakfast and even some take away dinners. The host was available and helpful when needed.

Great location comfy apartment with quirky decor

This is a small place - 2 or 3 rooms in the off season and I guess more in summer, with an additional, nearby, building.  We had started to walk past it, following the sign that said turn into the pedestrian alley, when the owner came after us.  Our room faced a square that had a bit but not a lot of auto traffic, and overlooked a string of cafes.  It was interesting to see the changing clientele, including groups of men that talked late every night.  It did not bother us, with windows open, since Greek is like background sound if you don't understand much of it.  The rooms have been done over in great style.  One challenge for me was that the cupboard's clothing rod was far beyond my reach.  The owner is a tall woman. but not all guests will be - something to consider.  Everything worked, and was comfortable.  A sidewalk to the touristic center was nearby, the harbor was a short walk.  The room we had reserved was up a steep somewhat curving (or maybe not) flight of stairs with no handrail.  Fortunately the lower room was empty, which is reached by a safer staircase.  We learned that wifi does not work unless the electricity in the room is on - perhaps obvious but the situation had never occurred before.  Room occupants get just one key and electric card, so when my husband went out scouting I was frustrated - and on duty was the owner's mother who has little English.  If you require a full service  hotel fully staffed with English speakers at all times, this is not the place for you. It's pretty close to the intercity bus terminal and it all worked out fine for us, in the end.  It is one of the prettiest rooms we had during 10 days on Crete.

Close to what interested us

The small boutique hotel is located perfectly in the city center! It has easy acces to parking and therefore it is the best starting point to explore the island while it is also perfect to have a stroll through the beautiful old town. The owner is very friendly and helpful, the place is clean and decorated with her unique taste. I definitely would choose it again!

Best place to stay!

We had a large apartment-style room overlooking a cozy inner courtyard with trees and vines (and a cat and a dog). The place was clean, with super comfortable beds. The location is excellent, near the shore and the fortress and an easy walk to the harbor with restaurants and shops. No problems with parking -- plenty of spaces.

Best ever

Booked 1 day before based on reviews. Great spot in the old town to explore from. Parking nearby. Really nice people and everything was easy. Can be a little noisy on the square outside though kind of Charming. Would recommend. 

Great little find.. 

We stayed one night end of September in Sohora Boutique Hotel. Host was friendly and nice, the room was lovely on the first floor but facing very busy square at night so can be a bit noisy. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best we had in Crete. Parking was convenient and free, Just a few yards from the hotel. The city centre is very close and everything can be visited on foot.

Quiet and lovely room, with personal and eclectic forniture! The room are clean and with all comfort.
Breakfast values your stay, every day a different choice of cretean specialities, fresh fruit and delicious cakes.

Feels better than home!

We stayed in a ground floor apartment which was very quirky, the room was large with good air con and a well equipped kitchenette. The bathroom had a lovely big shower with lots of hot water, toiletries and towels. Set in a pretty square with lovely gardens and fountains there were a couple of tavernas just outside. In the evening all the nearby narrow streets were buzzing with shops and restaurants it was great to wander around and soak up the atmosphere. The old fort walls were visible from the hotel and it was a short stroll to the sea front. A 15 minute walk took you right into the heart of the city with plenty more entertainment and a beach. Our only complaint was that it was very difficult to locate even with sat nav as google described it as 'on a roundabout' which it wasn't. There is no parking outside so it is a five minute walk from the closest free parking we could find
