Pelican Bay Hotel

What was good

The hotel is located in a quieter but not quiet part of Mykonos. It's about 5-8 minute walk from the Platis Gialos beach which is gorgeous and boast some of the best restaurants on the Island. From the hotel's pool there is a great view of the beach and some distant islands. If you want to get to Mykonos Town there are a number of great options including catching a taxi, shuttle or bus (though, your best bet is to walk over to the Petasos Beach and Resort Spa, where the shuttles and bus runs). We ordered food for dinner the first night as we got in late. We ordered a chicken gyro and some pita and dips. The portions were enormous, and the food was delicious. Of the 3-4 gyros that we had during our two week stay (we ate lots of things other than gyros) this was easily the best. The bartender, I believe his name was Costas, was incredibly kind and did an excellent job serving us both by the pool and in our room. The breakfast was a delight too! They had a wide variety of food including Greek, American and British-style breakfast cuisine. We ate there all three mornings during our stay. The service was exceptional, and everything was very clean. The room was loaded with everything we needed: a mini-fridge, a coffee maker with coffee/tea, fresh linens and towels, and soaps, etc. The AC worked wonderfully, and we were very comfortable the entire time. We had a patio to sit out on and enjoy wine and dinner. It had a splendid view of the bay, a nice table, and some comfortable chairs. The receptionist was a champion. At various points we had all kinds of different needs that they quickly and efficiently met such as printing out health forms, helping us with our lock box, calling a taxi, and generally being a good source of information about local sites and restaurants. The bartender Costas was magnificent and a real pleasure to chat with.
