We had a great dinner in Meersburg. The food  and service was just perfect like always. If you  want to have a great evening this is definitely the place to be. This restaurant is very special in Meersburg as it offers high quality food for a reasonable price with a great atmosphere!

Perfect dinner

Nice, lovely pension with very good kitchen on the shore of Bodensee, attentive personnel. Very good value for money required. We spent there 2 nights after exhaustive days on the exhibition AERO EXPO 2017
Excellent veal Wiener Schnitzel

The hotel is right on the main street in Meersburg. Parking is extra but would not suit people unsteady on their feet as the car park is up a hill and over a mile away. There is a bus, but that is not very practical. It takes a good 20 mins to walk and you pay Eu5 for the car park. That however is the penalty for staying right where the action is. The ferries and cruise boats are 50 yds away and they will take you to Bregenz, Konstanz or Insel Mainau and a host of other places. We opted for the interesting garden island, great for kids and adults alike and the ferry including entry to Mainau was Eu32pp for the day. The photos uploaded are of the island Mainau.
Breakfast was a continental buffet with a choice of eggs and the usual drinks served by the proprietor.
The rooms had fair wear and tear but the shower worked well.
Being on the main drag you can't open the windows if you are a light sleeper and you hear everything from singing to late night good byes and the delivery vans and rubbish collections in the morning. There is a fair collection of coffee shops, ice cream bars and restaurants in the street. We visited Armee Museum restaurant at the other end of the high street twice and would recommend that anytime.

Great for a short stay at this beautiful lake

The hotel is coveniently located in the Old town. The breakfast was
very good and rich. Unfortunately the room are old and not so clean, even
worse the heating system was not working properly. This is only a two star hotel but we are in Germany and I am used to higher standard.

Nice location but...

I have been in Meersburg before and stayed at another hotel.  They were booked and this was the only one available.   
From the start I was not too happy.  We arrive on a very hot day after driving for hours.  I check in with my daughter and we have two large suitcases.  We are on the third floor and there are only stairs going up.  Three men were at the front desk not one offered to help with the bags.  
As we are dragging our bags up a winding staircase I notice in one corner a arrangement of I guess at one time was flowers.  It was so dusty and dated, not attractive at all.  I was concerned what the room would be like.
The room was ok, it was clean.  Not enough towels in the room but we made due. 

There was no view our room was in the back and i guess over the kitchen we herd the staff when they were on break smoking.

Breakfast was great everyday.  We also had dinner there the first night and it was good.

The hotel is in a good location and i am sure if you had a front room you would see the water.

A little disappointed

Reversed through Booking.com.  
We arrived late at night because of the delayed flight and long drive. The hotel was entirely closed.  I called by their phone number.  Nobody answered.  Oh God... We had to look for another hotel near it to stay.  Luckily we got it.  
Next day, we went to Hotel Zum Lieben Augustin and complained about this... They replied "We close everything at 7PM".  Oh God, we can't stay at my reserved room after 7 PM?  I called their hotel on my way to the hotel(to avoid this situation), but nobody answered too.  They denied refund...  
I had to experience the same situation a few days later at Hameln.  We arrived late and called... they answered!  They gave me a detailed guidance to enter my reserved room.  
What's the difference?! 
Okay, they work at the desk until 7 PM.  But for the interest of the guests arriving after that, they have to receive the call.  They don't receive the call after 7 PM and deny the refund.  What the hell...
This's not a  hotel for the guests, for their own benefits only.  
Don't book this hotel when you think you're likely to arrive there after 7 PM.  Never!  Never!
I'd rather stay at a guesthaus beside it - It was cheaper and wide, cozy, most of all exclusive use of bathroom.  Hotel Zum Lieben Augustin's room(more expensive) had no bathroom for exclusive use. 
I should still call it "Hotel"? when I can't contact any staff in the hotel after7 PM?

Oh, God...  What have I booked?
