Where do we begin? With Léna, with the chickens, with the room, with the breakfast, with the setting, or with the location? Everything here exceeds expectations!  We stayed here at the end of a three week trip and it was the perfect finish. The setting is so peaceful - a comfortable room and an even more comfortable bed. Luxurious bedding, homemade soap in the bathroom. Tea, coffee and wine in the room. A touch of old world charm in the countryside. Breakfast consisted of fresh bread and pastries, homemade preserves, yougurt, fruit coffee, as well seasonal juice. Léna's recommendations for touring the area included castles, gardens, a huge Sunday market, and stellar wineries. When we come back to Vouvray, this is where we will stay and we recommend it to others. 

Enchanted Stay In Vouvray

Léna is a fantastic host from the get go! As soon as we arrived, we felt relaxed. The place is absolutely beautiful as well as committed to ethical and sustainable practices. Léna was welcoming, intelligent, with tons of advice about the area, we enjoyed the wineries she recommended.
Our room was large with a high ceilings and a garden view, spotless, with the most comfortable bed. The delicious breakfast was prepared with local and seasonal food, freshly baked bread, croissants and home-made yogurt.
It was a perfect base for visiting Loire chateaux and domains of Vouvray with great recommendations from Léna. Staying in Bagatelle, making a destination unforgettable.  If you’re planning to visit the area, this is a place you can’t miss.

Highlight of our 2 weeks Adventure in France!

We’ve just returned from a fabulous weekend at Bagatelle. The house is stunning, as is the decor, grounds and having access to the pool. 
Lena, our hostess couldn’t be more hospitable, with nothing too much trouble. The breakfast was great and recommendations to local vineyards and restaurant were very much appreciated. 
We really hope to go back and can’t recommend highly enough!

Fabulous weekend 

We stayed 3 nights at Bagatelle in a cave room, and very much enjoyed it.  Lena is a very welcoming and hospitable owner.  Bagatelle has great rooms, and is centrally located to visit the chateaux in the Loire, as well as the wine domains of Vouvray and other Loire appellations.  Highly recommended!

An excellent stay

We (3 adults, 3 teens) spent 2 nights at Bagatelle.  We had the King suite and 2 cave rooms. All of the rooms were large and well appointed. I had the King suite which had a large sitting area and view of the garden. 
Lena was the perfect hostess: friendly, engaging and helpful. My kids still talk about the delicious breakfast she prepared each morning. The kids also appreciated the break from the busy streets of Paris and felt completely relaxed at Bagatelle. 
We used this as a base for visiting several Chateaux in the area: Amboise, Clos Lucé (Leonardo Da Vinci's last home), and Chenonceau. At night we drove to Blois to see the Sound and Light show at Chateau Royal de Blois which was beautiful.The next day we visited Chambord on our way back to Paris. I would love to return to this property and rent bicycles to tour the area and also visit some wineries.

Superb property and hostess

April, two nights, cave room.

Beautiful location, wonderful old building, fabulous hostess, lovely breakfast.  

We parked on the street without incident.  Our group stayed in all three available rooms.  

Wonderful and would recommend very highly.

Perfect in every way

I stayed at the beautiful Bagatelle for one night in August (en route further south), and wish we could have stayed longer. The main house and garden are stunning and so peaceful. We had a cave room which was really special, and amazingly cool despite the really hot weather. Great location (if you venture up the hill just behind the house you’ll be straight into the vines). Lena was so welcoming to us and couldn’t have been kinder. 

I then booked to stay another night at Bagatelle on my way back to London and Lena very kindly gave me my breakfast early so that I could leave in time to catch my Eurostar without missing breakfast...and you don’t want to miss breakfast as it is delicious!

I will definitely be staying here again and would recommend it to anyone, whether as a stop over or preferably for longer as it really is wonderful. 

Thank you also to Lena for welcoming our dog - it’s great to have somewhere we know she is welcome, often a rarity!

A perfect spot in Vouvray

This was excellent accommodation with a wonderful hostess Lena who made it such an enjoyable stay. The room was large and spotlessly clean, exactly as shown on the website. Nothing was too much trouble and it was close enough to most of the Chateaus to drive and also restaurants close by. I would highly recommend Bagatelle to everyone, you will not be disappointed! 

Excellent stay

We stayed in the Bagatelle for 3 nights and truly felt completely at home. You enter through a big gate into a world of tranquility and are warmly welcomed by Léna, a lovely host who incidentally is fluent in English. We were lucky to have one of the cave rooms which is beautifully decorated and very cozy. We both had the most amazing sleep due to the comfy bed and glorious peace. The main house has a lovely garden in which to relax, enjoy some wine or eat a light picnic dinner, and there is also a pool. Finally breakfast. One word - yummy! An assortment of croissants, breads and preserves. There is also ham and eggs if you need something more filling and Léna was even able to give me gluten free bread (although I nearly cracked and ate the croissant!!). Truly a gem of a place to stay in a wonderful region! 

Exquisite hideaway in Vouvray 

This was my all time favourite bnb experience. A short hop from the airport (Tours), walking distance to Vouvray (with boulangerie, tabac, Auchan etc), spotless room, amazing bed, swimming pool, delicious breakfasts and very welcoming hosts. I could not have asked for more. There were lots of nice touches - cold drinks by the pool, extra cups of tea, the opportunity to have a homemade salad/cheese/meat and a bottle of Vouvray in the evening (do this! v reasonable price and delicious). I cannot recommend Bagatelle more highly. Thank you Pascale!! We hope to come next year (Rebecca and Jon).
