I left an item in the room and tried to call hotel and customer services to report the loss .No answer on every attempt . The gadget was compromised by someone trying to get into it .
My map shows the gadget is still in Metz whether in the hotel or not . Fortunately it was insured and I had the receipt etc for the stay of one night.

Stressful

This is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. 
This incident occurred in October 2020.
We arrived late at night and got our rooms (numbers and codes)
When we went to our rooms it smelled like someone was smoking weed.
We had booked three rooms for the night. One could not open with the code we got, one could not lock the door and one was already occupied. 
I went to the front desk to get it sorted out, but the person who checked us in had left for the night.
So without ever having used the rooms we left the ‘hotel’.
I wrote a complaint and asked for our money back. It was a matter of €120.
It took 20 mails over a period of 2 years before I finally got a refund. 

Worst experience ever

Coronavirus wouldn't choose to infect this hovel. And that is not a typo. Do yourself a favour, sleep on the streets, its cleaner and you'd save €40. The word "grim" would be a compliment. If you dont take illegal substances then you will be the odd one out. You probably will catch diseases/be bitten by lice/come out in a rash if you sleep here. Avoid like the plague. It probably thrives here too!

Don't. Just don't.

My family and I stayed there in November 2018. I chose it for the price, which I recognize was cheap, but since I saw the atmosphere at the entrance I realized my mistake in choosing it. To start the receptionist was eating at one of the tables they have at the reception that I understand would be for customer use. When she saw us arriving she did not flinch but continued eating instead and another person, who looked like a client, had to come to "attend us". In short, we had to check-in on a machine. The room was not quite bad, knowing in advance that it had no bathroom inside. Maybe they could put a small fridge and a better state of the sink, ours had a sink that was never fixed. The shared bathroom is THE WORST WORST EVER: UNCOMFORTABLE, DIRTY AND WITHOUT PRIVACY, NOR SECURITY. Finally, the location is not conpletely bad, although it is a bit out of the city center and when you arrive for the first time it can be a bit confusing to access following the directions of Google Maps. In summary: cheap hotel but that does not compensate for the poor quality of the installation or the services it offers. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. DONT GO THERE!!!

Me hospedé en noviembre de 2018, con  familia. Lo escogí por el precio, que reconozco era barato, pero ya desde que vi el ambiente que había a la entrada me dí cuenta de mi error al elegirlo. Para empezar la recepcionista de aquel momento estaba comiendo en una de las mesas que tienen en la recepción que entiendo serían para el uso de los clientes. Al vernos llegar ni se inmutó, siguió comiendo y tuvo que venir otra persona, que parecía un cliente más, a "atendernos". En definitiva el check-in lo tuvimos que hacer en una máquina. La habitación no es que estuviera del todo mal, sabiendo de antemano que no tenía baño dentro. Igual les vendría bien tener una pequeña nevera y un mejor estado de los lavamanos, el nuestro tenía un salidero que nunca nos solucionaron. El baño compartido es LO PEOR, PEOR: INCÓMODO, SUCIO Y SIN PRIVACIDAD, NI SEGURIDAD. Por último la ubicación no es mala del todo aunque sí que está un poco apartado del centro de la ciudad y al llegar por primera vez puede ser un poco confuso acceder siguiendo las orientaciones de Google Maps. En resumen: hotel barato pero que no con eso compensa la mala calidad de la instalación ni de los servicios que ofrece. NO LO RECOMIENDO. DON'T GO THERE!!!

El hotel de los horrores // The hotel of horrors

My recommendation as a low budget traveler: Do not go there! Even though it’s cheap – rooms and sanitary facilities are just horribly dirty and it’s really worth paying more for having a clean room somewhere else. Furthermore, such a bad service should not be supported at all.
Here’s my story: 
I am used to not have much comfort and I haven’t expected a lot from this hotel due to the bad reviews. But this was too much! 

I arrived and checked in at the self-check-in machine. No hotel staff was there. The machine printed two receipts. I stored my luggage at the room that was indicated at one of the receipts and left to explore Metz. When I came back, I realized that on the second receipt another room number and door code was indicated. I asked the reception if I had to change the room tomorrow. She could not speak English (only a few words) and explained to me (in French) that I was in the wrong room, the room would belong to another guest. I was confused and ask, why then the machine had printed this receipt (including door code), if it was not my room. No answer... so I changed the room. (I still had the door code of the other guest's room and hoped that at least I was the only one with the door code for my room).
 
Then I realized how dirty my room was. It’s not such a big deal for me, that the walls weren’t white anymore, but I really have a problem with horribly dirty bed sheets (bed sheets were full of tabacco, crumbs, and other dirt). I complained. The receptionist wiped away some crumps with her hand and was like: “now it’s clean”. I was like: “No it’s not. It’s still dirty everywhere. I don’t think that the bed sheets are fresh”. She was like: “There are fresh”. After a short discussion, she finally gave me new bed sheets. Still I had the feeling, that no one had cleaned the room after the last guest, and I felt disgusted and uncomfortable in this room. 

Then I went to the toilets: incredible dirty. Everywhere used toilet paper. Like dirty highway service station toilets. And the showers were dirty as well. I tried not to touch anything and felt disgusted. 
I warmed my food in the microwave (which was dirty as well of cause) and wanted to eat outside. But it was very dirty outside and there were many mice.
The next day, I wanted to go exploring the city again – but the receptionist called me back. She said I had not paid yet. I told her that I had paid for both nights at the self-check-in machine. But she maintained her view and told me I either should leave my room or pay now (another guest translated this in English for me, so I was sure that this was really what she had said). I tried to explain her again (in French) that I had paid and even showed her the payments in my banking app. I phoned my bank and they confirmed the payments. After 1 hour! she suddenly said: ok, it’s ok. I was surprised and asked her if there is now no problem anymore. She was like: No. Then she even lied at me and said that she just had mistaken me and thought, I wanted to complain that I paid for one nights twice (again: she was the one who had called me back and told me I had to leave my room if I don’t pay…). At least, she said sorry.

Difficult to find!
A “bad” area, with lots of “wrong people” hanging around and right outside the hotel parking.
Would not for one second let my wife walking there alone in the evening!
The showers and toilets NEEDS renovation.
Unsure about the cleaning.
Will never return to this F1, and in my experience, they are ok compared to the costs per night.

The worst F1 I’ve ever used!!!!

I booked this last minute with my family as we needed somewhere to stay to break up our drive home from Italy. £26 for the night but I thought " How Bad could it be " , how wrong was I. After arriving in what appeared to be an industrial estate sandwiched between a major road network and a railway track, we parked and immediately noticed a lot of non French children playing whilst their fathers worked on cars in the car park. We checked in and made our way to the room, the room was clean but smelt of stale body odour. We then considered walking into the city centre but discovered that it was over 30 minutes walk so opted for the car. On our return I wanted to use the toilet which I found to smell, the floor was covered in fluid and the light didn't work. I looked at the others and found them all to be the same. The showers were that disgusting that we decided to go without. On the two occasions my wife used the toilets she was approached by two different males whom appeared intoxicated through alcohol, drugs or a combination of both and this  frightened her so much that she wouldn't go out of the room alone. I slept with the bedroom window open as I feared my car would be broken into in the car park below. The window had a small safety catch which is easily undone and opens fully. This is about 3ft from the room floor but next to ours was the corner table and chair, this wouldn't be safe for an inquisitive child, especially as we were on the 3rd floor. We were glad to be checking out the following morning. In my option the hotel appears to be being used to house homeless families and immigrants ( sort of half way house) I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone 😡

Hard to Find, Bad Location,Disgusting Bathrooms

The main problem I have with this hotel is that they charged my group twice for one room, and are now ignoring my emails to try and get a refund.  The hotel itself is fine for the price. It's very basic, and as some other reviewers have stated, a little hard to find.  As for the room, it served it's purpose and I had a comfortable nights sleep, the breakfast, again, was satisfactory for the price.  I would not recommend staying here, however, based purely on the customer service I have received since.

Budget hotel, budget service. Charged twice for room, still no refund.

Hotel was difficult to find and no one one reception after 9pm so had to gain enter with a code from a hole in the wall machine. . There were only tiny hand towels in the room and no shampoo or shower gel. Staff were helpful and friendly but breakfast was awful. It was literally some cereal and a few pieces of bread. When the bread was finished at 8am was told that is it. The hotel wasn't all that clean either. Overall very disappointing. 
I also had an event ticket sent to hotel and eventually after an hour of haggling finally got the staff to admit to they had it after showing them the UPS delivery signature from the day before. It had been opened and there was no envelope which should have had my name and booking ref no. on it.

Extremely Disappointing

Well, it's F1, so you know what you bargain for. Personally, I always slept good in them. For a basic accomodation, it is ok: the bed is comfortable, although everything is slightly dirty. I like the efficient self check-in, and the parking lot was securely fenced.
