We arrived early but were checked-in quickly. All our requests were solved with great efficiency. Our room faced backwards and was extremely quiet, cosy and impeccably clean. No A.C. but the room cooled during the night.

Simple & cosy

We booked late and knew we weren't going to be in the centre of Lyon but were pleasantly surprised that this hotel was around 200m from Grange Blanche Metro station which takes you directly there in 10mins for €1.80.
For the price we paid we were more than happy with our accommodation, large room for two, decent enough bath/shower room.
Off road, secure parking facilities are available.
Don't expect a great deal more, breakfast is served to your room as the hotel doesn't have restaurant/bar facilities.
The owner/manager was very helpful and spoke good English.

Be aware
If you are in Lyon to watch sport at the new stadium, there isn't an easy way there and back, we went by tram which is easy enough on the way there but there doesn't seem to be a proper queuing system for the way back. We walked to the third tram stop along (around 2 miles away) and squeezed on around two hours after the match had finished which was a lot quicker than waiting at either of the previous stops.



Rugby weekend

We arrived and didn't know where to park, so we snuck round the corner and double parked- I ran inside and the lovely man at reception was so fast to open the garage door for us! He then carried my bags for me :) very kind. The hotel itself was spotless and the wifi was fast and easy! It is located a little way from the city so we negotiated the subway or the 1st time- bit of a challenge but heres a tip you can change the ticket machines to english! We had breakfast which was ok- croissant and bread with jam & butter only. If you didn't like bread this might be an issue but we do so was ok:). Bath was great but no shower curtain so you have to manoeuvre in the tub to wash your hair with the shower.
All in all it was great and I would stay again!

Helpful Staff :)

Small little Hotel, very friendly and helpful owner. Room clean and nicely done. Bath tube as open shower perhaps not optimum but nearby metro station. Therefore although not in the centre still easily accessible. Price / quality very good with simple good breakfast served in the room.  

Worth it!

The Laennec was not quite what I expected. A small family hotel on a quiet backwater in the Lannec area of Lyon. The owner was very helpful but didn't speak English. Breakfast was delivered to the room each morning, and on my final day when he realised that I was not awake he gave an alarm call that I had not asked for 10 minutes before delivering breakfast.

Car parking was in his secure garage under the hotel.

The room was comfortable, but note there is no air conditioning so may be hot in the summer. 

It is also worth noting that the area does not have too many restaurants, and some of those I found were closed by 8:00pm!

I ate at the Transvaal Pizzeria, about two plocks away. Excellent food there.
