14 reviewsIf you are looking for a 5* resort, this is not for you. But if you are looking for a traditional Fijian experience -then you have come to the right place. We stayed at Isa Lei for 10 days with another couple and we all agree that this little gem was the most special place we have ever seen. The accommodation was clean on arrival and cleaned daily - we loved the tents, was so nice and breezy in the heat. Food was all home grown or caught that day. I personally don't eat fish, so the hosts especially made me something else. Each meal was delicious - not a choice from a menu which we liked, it was unique. They don't have alcohol on the resort, just coconut and water which suited us perfectly! The toilet and showers were outdoors, we loved this! Who gets to shower in the middle of the rainforest!! A Private beach, when the tide is in you can snorkel for hours! Our amazing hosts took us spear fishing and swimming with reef sharks. We were also offered a night snorkel to see the turtles which was a lovely offer. Each day we had an activity - basket weaving, coconut milk making, swimming with reef sharks and we were even welcomed into the village and had a cava ceremony with the elders. We really felt like we were stripped back to an amazing way of life and would recommend everyone to go with an open mind... experience the Fijian way of life. I would however suggest not going as a solo traveller - you may get a little bored on your own. Although you can take day trips out etc - we took one to the caves. All in all - the best place we have ever stayed. It was like the film (The Beach) Have a look on our youtube channel justsimpleadventure to watch videos of this lovely place.
