Had a most enjoyable stay at Albabenshal Lodge, Siwa in November 2023. Arriving after a long bus trip from Alexandria the manager, Salama, offered a welcoming tea and conversation. Salama was extremely kind and friendly throughout my stay, providing helpful advice and arranging local sightseeing for several of us who were staying at the hotel at the same time. Due to an early check-out he provided me with a breakfast box for my bus trip. Thanks also to Mohammed, who took us to many sights, including the salt lakes and hot springs in his (Ferrari) tuk tuk. The room was simple but comfortable (and being an interior room it was quiet). I had several meals at the Albabenshal (including on the upstairs terrace with amazing views over the adjoining 13th century Shali fortress), all of which were good. Breakfast was delicious and the large tables conducive to conversation and making friends with other guests. And finally the location is wonderful. Right in the historic centre of Siwa and next to the Shali fortress. Would definitely recommend. 

Amazing location; kind and friendly staff

We really loved our stay at Al Babinshal. We a ground floor room with wonderful original features (as the hotel is part of the old fort) and simple, stylish decor. Despite the 40 degree heat the room was cool. The breakfast was the best of all the breakfasts we had in Egypt - falafel, eggs, fruit and wonderful hibiscus jam! Salaman, the owner is a really special guy, he made us feel really at home, nothing was too much trouble and he helped with tours in/around Siwa and onward travel and accommodation without being pushy or over-pricing. try and contact the hotel direct to get best rates. 

The best in Siwa! 

An excellent hotel in the centre of Siwa. A great manager Salamar who was always helpful and gave good advice. I would stay again and the breakfast was excellent. I consider this hotel to be the best in Siwa.

A fine place to stay.

Amazing hotel with great stuff , very clean and food was delicious ...The hotel location is at the centre and surrounded with many shops and close to shali citadel a great place to visit 
Mr Salem the hotel manager is very friendly and joyful

Trip to Siwa

The staff is friendly, helpful to the extend that is within their reach, they really care for you as if you were their own. I felt safe and soo welcomed. They are such humble and honest people. Rooms are not kept as tidy as they should and blankets were not warm enough for the chilly nights but everything else was great. 

Great Siwan Experience 

I loved staying at the beautiful Albabenshal Lodge. Incredible style, great location, and Salama is a wonderful, warm hearted host. Also best breakfasts! Felt like home away from home. I’ll definitely be back. ………………………………………………………….

Loved the Albabenshal Lodge

The Place is really good but keep in mind when going there that you will be experiencing a Primitive environment where beds are made of wooden cages and the Mattresses are not that comfy and i would highly recommend bring your own comfy pillow or you will have hard time sleeping.
The Hotel staff are good but don't expect a Room service every day or cleaners and so on as again it's a Primitive environment.

Historical location

As always we booked a group dinner at Albabenshal Hotel in Siwa.

The dinner was great, service was fast and everybody enjoyed it.

We highly recommend having lunch or dinner at Albabenshal while visiting Siwa.

We enjoyed the stay very much. It would have been nicer if staff paid more attention to cleanliness!! Staff were very friendly and smiley and did their best. The location is suitable downtown. Having dinners under the stars was just amazing

Nice place

If you are looking for an authentic place and experience, don’t look any further, that’s the right place for you. The hotel is located inside the muddy fortress of Shali, the rooms are furnished in a Siwan way, the breakfast is delicious, Salama the manager is a sweetheart. 
We had a little mouse in our room but I was probably stranded, and I personally didn’t appreciate the way they treat the cats.
