This private guest house is an absolute gem! The family are delightful and their place is uniquely decorated with local traditions in mind. The food is excellent and we are very much looking forward to our supper tonight. The animals are well cared for too which is always a big plus for us :-)

We spent two nights at Scorpion House. It is on the West Bank, very conveniently located to visit the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens. Our room was in a separate building in the garden and it was very spacious with good air conditioning. We had breakfast, lunch and two dinners there and the meals were delicious and portions generous. The host and his family were very kind and made us feel very welcome and safe. 

Scorpion House is a traditional and cozy place to stay and is conveniently located to visit the Valley of the Kings, Luxor, etc. The hosts are lovely people and the meals they prepared for us were delicious. We had a super positive experience and can absolutely recommend it!

We stayed 3 days at this location. Tayeb is just amazing.. food was awesome and the care he devoted to our family was priceless. We even got a small token of appreciation at checkout!!. If you are planning to go to luxor and want to enjoy great food (authentic) and don't mind being a bit far from east side of luxor this is the right place for you. Btw Tayeb also arranged guided tour to west side and east side temples and it was amazing.

An absolute gem in Luxor. Our stay at Scorpion house was beyond our expectations. Tayeb and his family were extremely generous and friendly. We felt so welcome in their self-built home. (If he doesn’t show you by himself ask to see the pictures of when it was built, so special and cool to see!)

The entire experience was very authentic. In comparison to our stay at one of the hotels on the east side this truly was so much nicer. The west side is joked by locals to be “the west side, the best side” and we couldn’t agree more. More smiles and less hassle, a breath of fresh air. 

Both breakfast and dinner are so so delicious and prepared with so much love. Also for  vegetarians out there, you won’t leave hungry.

Our room (Aylam) was beautiful. Very romantic, spacious, and colorful. It had a very strong and well working air conditioning unit, a comfortable bed, and made us so happy and grateful just being there.

Oh and the animals are so sweet and so well taken care of. Prepare to have your heart stolen over and over again.

If you were doubting, don’t. A stay at scorpion house will make your trip to Egypt so much more unique with memories to cherish.

Tayeb as we say in arabic is a name truly given to the owner of this house, meaning he is genuinely the nicest host we have met. The service and accommodation was beyond what we expected from the cleanliness, hospitality and overall needs. 

Tayeb and his wife were very helpful when needed and breakfast time felt like we were sitting in our family home. The decor and overall atmosphere made us want to cancel the rest of our activities just so we can spend more time in the guest house. The room as good running cold & hot water, very good AC and very clean. 
I would recommend to bring your own towel just for personal hygiene but it is still veryyyy clean. 

We traveled as 2 females friends and we felt extremely safe in a new and remote place which is rare in this day an age. If you are ever visiting Luxor make The Scorpion House your home. 

It is super close to all the activities in the West Bank (by car) : Valley of the kings (5min), Valley of the queens (8min), Hot Air Ballon (10min), Quad Bike Safari (10min). So you definitely get that extra rest and is the last too get pick up and first to get dropped off from your activity. 
It is also only a 15min drive to the Nile where you can enjoy dinner by the Nile so definitely not that far and highly recommend.

This is an amazing and unique guesthouse, run by Tayeb. Tayeb is a wonderfully kind man who will ensure you have a lovely stay. He is also a fantastic cook and we highly recommend staying for dinner which we had each night. The food is all freshly prepared and Tayeb will cater for all needs. We found breakfast enough to keep us going until the evening. 
The guest house is quirky and bedrooms/bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. 
You can learn a lot about Egypt and archeology from Tayeb when we had several after dinner chats.

Tayeb’s guesthouse is on the quiet West Bank in Luxor. He built it himself and it is beautifully decorated and feels like an old Egyptian house with lots of space and courtyards, and murals on the walls. He is a lovely relaxed man who can arrange whatever you need in terms of visits, food, laundry etc. The dinners and breakfasts were wonderful. I wish we’d stayed longer, and would not hesitate to recommend it. It is very good value too.

I tried this hotel becuase my friend Ahmed told me that this hotel is really good and i can say it really is. I was amazed how friendly it was. Reception looks amazing and rooms too. I can recommended it. If you want to go to Luxor go to this hotel!!!  The boss Alteab is excellent. 

AMAZING food (they made vegetarian food especially for us), excellent hosts. Cute family house beautifully decorated. Very clean (this is hard to find in Egypt). I felt at home. There's even a loving dog and an adorable kitten. You won't regret coming here. It's not Downtown but you escape from the noise here.
DELICIOSA comida (hasta nos hicieron comida vegetariana para nosotros). Excelentes anfitriones. Precioso hogar familiar bellamente decorado. Muy limpio todo (lo cual es inusual en Egipto). Nos sentimos en casa. Incluso hay un perrito amoroso y una gatita adorable. No lamentarás haber venido. No es centrico, pero es mejor ya que en zona céntrica hay mucho ruido hasta tarde de noche.
