I'm not exaggerating to say that this hotel is hands down the best hotel I've stayed at within all of South America considering the price. Everything works! The rooms are gigantic! The towels are fluffy and clean! Everything is white glove test clean! The beds big and comfortable! The showers shoot out hot water instantly and with good pressure! The staff is extremely kind and accommodating. They also have a decent restaurant and artisan market in the hotel. The only grumble I have is they only take cash. 

If you're staying within 25 miles of Otavalo, look no more!

This hotel is maintained extremely well, the staff is very kind and helpful. The views are breathtaking and the rooms are very spacious. This is located in a safe area and great for mission teams. Overall wonderful experience!!

Very nice hotel huge rooms very nice bathrooms and very safe  , the balconies have an amazing view of the city people very friendly good breakfast . All the Americans like the hotel . I  compare this hotel to the others in town and this is the best hotel town it is a brand new big rooms . The owners a nice couple who are evangelical christians.

Sumac Wasi a family run hotel with very spacious rooms, nice bathrooms with lots of hot water and is kept nice and clean.  For a hotel in the center of town, it is amazingly quiet when it comes to outside noise.  We stayed here for two weeks.  The first week was very quiet as the hotel was not busy.  On our second weekend, a group of noisy guest arrived and we found that the hotel was not sound-proofed to noise from other guests.  Although these guests seemed to be particularly noisy (slamming doors, talking very loudly in corridors, kids running around yelling), we could also hear talking and personal hygiene noises from other rooms.  Another concern I had, and I don't know if this was confined to our room or if the problem existed in other rooms, was that the bathroom had a sewer smell.  I finally solved this problem, after mentioning it to the owners, by purchasing a room deodorizer.  Another thing to be aware of is that there are lots of stairs to climb.  We were on the third floor which meant having to climb 5 flights of stairs.  Elevators are not common here.  We also had a problem at times getting our room cleaned.  We'ld ask for cleaning but the girl at reception would forget to relay it to the cleaning staff.  Even with the problems mentioned, I would stay here again as it is very clean and well priced.
