It is a quiet place, near the city center.

It reminds me of a hotel I stayed in in Europe

This is a very good, well-run hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the public spaces are pleasant and well maintained and the service is efficient and friendly.  I was in Ibarra for work and given that there was no work table in my room, I was using a table in lounge area to write some e-mails. One of the staff noticed and within a short time, a table was brought to my room…I didn’t even ask them to do this; they just took it upon themselves. That is the kind of service that one doesn’t get everywhere. The wireless internet worked well. The breakfast (included in the rate) includes eggs cooked according to request, cereal, fruit, cheeses and a selection of breads, along with juice and coffee. The restaurant also serves a very reasonably priced set course menu for dinner (juice, entrée, main dish and dessert) and the quality of the food was surprisingly first-rate. The location is also good, about a 10 minute walk to the main squares (and you can also walk to the bus station in about 15 minutes, or take a taxi for $1). The rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy, as it is located on a main street. This hotel is clearly very well managed and is excellent value for the cost. I would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Ibarra.

Nice hotel, friendly staff

A short walk to the center of town.
The owner, Francisco, speaks English and is very helpful.
Rooms are small but well maintained, clean and comfortable.
I stay again without any qualms.

Hotel Montecarlo is a hidden gem

The hotel is very good pricy but good , rooms are big with comfortable bedding and good running water on the shower , we were in the room that face the street and to our surprise it was not noisy at all , breakfast is buffet style and it was included on the price , scramble eggs , fruit juice coffee cereal , overall it was good 

Excellent location and good 

If you need to stay in Ibarra for a night or two,  hotel Montecarlo is just perfect. For holidays with family when you do not plan to be at the hotel during the day, it is also good. But if you need to stay longer or use the amenities of a hotel you might have to look for another one.
Price is proportional with the service.

Good location  and clean 

This is really a hostel and not a hotel.  The rooms smelled like poo literally because of the exposed pipes.  They give you a very small soap bar to use for a single shower.  My first night the cops were going room to room searching for something or someone.  They were outside with sirens going for about 45m.  And the noise from the street can keep you up at night.  The hotel sits on one of the main streets so, there is a lot of noise. 
But for $30 bucks a night it was cheap.  So just keep in mind its not really a hotel.  Its more like a hostel with individual rooms and a private bathroom.  --very small.
