Really bad shape, more a hostel. Beach and view is nice, but everything else is old and worn out

Location was nice, beach access was good. Building and surrounding area was in poor condition.  Staff was great.  Overall a good place for the money, would be better if owners took better care of the place

The town of Hvar has no public transportation and the hotel is located approximately 30-40 min walking distance. The room was a bit dirty and the rooms have not been remodeled for a long time, there is a lack of room maintenance. The bed was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was also very complete and good.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sirena. We stayed for 3 nights and we paid for half board (breakfast & dinner) and a seafront room, which had a lovely view.

The rooms in the hotel were simple, but clean and well kept. The beds were comfy and there was enough storage for our belongings. I would definitely recommend the seafront rooms, as we had a gorgeous room. A complaint would be the lack of plugs in the room, however this can easily be overcome by an extender. Yes, the rooms are slightly "dated", but we weren't there for the rooms! They were comfy, clean and had great aircon.

We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast and dinners. The breakfast was largely the same each morning with a few alterations. It included meats, cheese, bread, eggs, sausages, bacon, croissants, etc. The dinner was different each night, but typically included a few choices of meats, vegetables, salad, grains, chips/potatoes. There were also cakes and fruit for dessert which were nice. It isn't anything fancy and may not appeal to a fussy eater (coming from the UK that is). However, the food quality was good and we filled up every night. Our favourite thing was the calamari on our second night. 

The staff were always pleasant and helpful when needed. There is 24/7 on the front desk, and they speak good English if necessary. We received a warm welcome on arrival. 

One complaint would be the lack of Wi-Fi in the rooms. However, data service worked fine for us, and there was Wi-Fi in the beach bar & restaurant area. It didn't hinder our trip too much. 

Our favourite part about the hotel was the location. It is right by the coast and has its own little beach essentially for the hotel. The sunbeds had no cost and you could be from your room to sunbathing by the clear waters within 2 minutes. Though people do save sun loungers with their towels, it wasn't crazy. You could wander down there at midday and get a spot. 

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sirena. Reading through other reviews, I can understand the complaints but I think people should be a little more open minded to the positives of the hotel. Hvar is dominated by expensive hotels/restaurants, and to be able to stay on this beautiful island in a more financially accessible hotel is fantastic. I think if you are travelling from far and this is your only pitstop, I could understand why you would be unhappy. It is also quite far from the old town, and many are not capable of making a 25 min journey full of hills/steps (you can get a taxi if you need though and they aren't expensive!). This hotel isn't luxury, but not every hotel needs to be. We stayed for 3 nights to relax and sunbathe between our week long trips to Split and Dubrovnik, and it was perfect for this purpose. I would definitely stay here again if I was travelling around Croatia!

With one word TERRIBLE. Food is not good. The fruits are rotten. Everything is filthy. Truly grosse. Drink was warm and worst quality. I do not have words for this disaster.
Pool was dirty germ litter.
This is low price dirty motel. Is not worth any money. Better go camping.

Sirena

This hotel is shown as a 3 star hotel, but in reality it’s a poor 2 star hotel, very similar to a communist guest house: a lot of stairs, no elevator, everything is old: the rooms, the doors, the windows, the bathroom is awful: no shower holder, the light in the bathroom is too low to see, the basin is old the bath disgusting. In the restaurant there is plastic table cloth, it is hot and the food is terrible. Poor choice of low level food for the dinner. For breakfast there are no croissants or biscuits, no fresh fruit or vegetables. 
The good thing is the position: even if it’s far from the center of Hvar (more than 2 km and you have to cross a rocky tunnel) it is situated directly at the seaside, it has a lovely beach. There is also a diving center.  The small beach is quite crowded and full of children though. The staff is very kind and nice. The food at the beach bar where we had lunch was good. The colour of the sea is amazing though. 

A communist low level hostel sold as a 3 star hotel

We booked this hotel as we wanted a beautiful quiet escape! The room was suitable, basic but had everything we needed. It was a little dated and maybe in need of a decoration but was ideal for what we needed. The sea view we had from our room was absolutely incredible, like paradise! Sun loungers (which we didn't get charged extra for unlike some reviews say) and crystal clear waters meant it was a lovely place to relax. The food wasn't amazing, but there was a lot of choice. The staff were helpful and had some good recommendations.

Get what you pay for - with a beautiful beach!

One of the worst hotels I'v been in many Years. I stayed in few tousand hotels in my life.
Furniture form 50' with beds allmost on the floor. Cheapest ham and cheese for breakfast. 
Cheap rooms for Hvar but Taxi for 3 km Is 15€ one way.
Avoid in a big circle.

Understand you get what you pay for but the hotel is something else. I refused to pay and had to book another hotel. Cigarette burn in blanket, Hairs on bed and towels, toilet wouldn't stop leaking, blood in bath, no lights outside in corridor. And a crackhead bothering me outside. Reminded me of the hotel in first Inbetweeners movie.

Disgusting

We booked this accomodation as a budget accom and that is what we received. The room was stayed in was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The bathroom was very clean and spacious enough. Unfortunately for my partner the bed was a little short and his legs hung over the edge but he is 6'5! The beds are on the smaller side but they are comfortable and clean. The hotel itself is very dated but the location is great. We booked a sea view and that is what we got (it did not stretch for km's but it was a small little corner of the sea and it was great to have out the window). We could hear the water at night which was really nice. The breakfast is average at best but it is included so can't complain. The staff are all very friendly and lovely and will help you out if you ask. The water outside the hotel is crystal clear and there is plenty of areas for swimming. The location is about 20-25 minute walk to the main port of Hvar. To walk to Hula Hula beach club is about 10-15 minutes. There are a couple of other beach bars and hotels with bars that you could visit along your way from the walk from Sirena into Hvar. We walked into Hvar every night for dinner and enjoyed drinks along our way on the way back. I don't think I would book again but for what you pay it is everything you could need, especially when you don't plan to be at your accomodation all day but rather be out exploring! On our last day we requested a taxi to get to the ferry and the receptionist organised it and it arrived within 15 minutes - a very pleasant end to the trip.
