Very clean great value good location.lots marble and large clean room.great shops and eat places across the 2nd road..all easy walking distance .breakfast was good with plenty to choose from as with most places we have to do far.woukd stay again no problem. 

Nice all over

We arrived in Zhengzhou after a high speed rail journey from Xian. It was 10 o'clock at night and we hadn't eaten all day. Our tour guide assured us that there were restaurants nearby so off we set. Heading right we came across a neighbourhood café- no English- just cold beers in an icebox on the floor, chicken feet and clams in baskets on a table in the middle of the room and a hassled man at a barbeque cooking meat on sticks. Despite the language barrier and the dubious refrigeration methods we had one of the most fun dinners of our whole trip. The next day we were able to see that the hotel was actually close to a lot of eating and shopping options, not to mention some Chinese massage clinics that are very welcome after climbing the Great Wall. The Glory Grand was comfortable and well equipped and served one of the best breakfasts we had in China. So if you arrive in the middle of the night remember there is more available around the hotel than you think!

More than you think

This hotel was booked as part of a Tripadeal tour of China. While our room was adequate, other members of our group were not so lucky and had issues with dirty rooms, broken plumbing and unacceptable smells. Management were initially not interested in addressing any of their concerns though after much debate, one couple were shifted to alternative accommodation. This was disappointing because the locality is excellent in terms of proximity to shops, restaurants and parks.

Disappointing interlude in what was a great trip

  We spent two nights here. 
It is an Amazing looking Hotel. 
   Our rooms were spacious and very clean. The bathroom was good. 
  The beds firm , but comfortable. 
The dinning hall is huge. 
The breakfast was great , serving Asian and Western. So much to choose from. 
  The Hotel is centrally located, with many good restaurants close by. 
  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. 

Amazing Hotel

Upon arriving late from the USA we checked in only to find our rooms without functioning air conditioning. We had opportunities to change rooms, but the air want working there either. It is hard to sleep when the room is 30.5 degrees C.  Breakfast buffet was nice enough and the hotel itself is aesthetically fine. But...we were miserable in our rooms.  We had to change hotels.

Air Conditioning problems

We were happy enough with the room on our recent visit but very disappointed with the customer service from most of the reception and concierge staff. We wanted to get an early taxi to railway station at 5am and were told repeatedly from staff that taxis did not operate at this time of the day. Concierge phoned “taxi” for us which we established was a private driver who was friend of hotel staff and wanting to charge exhorted rate. What a load of crap. We couldn’t pre arrange taxi so got up that morning and found plenty driving around. Morning reception staff were very helpful. Don’t pay for private drivers as taxis work 24 hours as they do worldwide.

Nice rooms but very poor service

We were worried about this hotel after reading recent reviews on the state of the rooms, so we were prepared. As we entered our room, we were blown away. We were on the 19th floor. 

Our room has only just be refurbished. The room was vast, clean and well presented. Other people in our tour group was less fortunate as they were given older and tied rooms. We can’t complain.

The breakfast room was Hugh, great food both Asian and western. 

All in all, we had a great 2 night stay.
