The place is close to the airport (15 min shuttle) with the shuttle going to and from every hour. The check-in was hassle-free, got my keycard and wifi password and I was done. The room was surprisingly spacious, even though we go the cheapest one available. Our room was on the second floor, and there's no lift, but if you'd like you can leave your luggage downstairs. The bed was big, the bathroom had all you need, wifi was fast and the signal strong. The hotel called me 30min before the shuttle departure to make sure I wouldn't be late, which was a nice touch.
There's nothing much around, but let's face it - the reason you'd stay at a place like this is just to wait for your next flight, and in that it fit the bill. The bed was as hard as the floor, but that's a Chinese peculiarity, and with majority of customers being Chinese you can't really blame them.

Good place to spend a night waiting for the next flight.

It sounds like many people had the same experience as us - I had booked a hotel for the night during our long layover in Shanghai, but we were intercepted by a man who said he knew where we were going and would drive us. He charged us $50 to drive us about 10 minutes, got off at the wrong exit and took us to this place instead of our hotel, insisting it was a better deal. He was obviously hustling us for a kickback from the place, but we were too tired to fight it. We ran into other people from our flight who had the same experience, some had been charged as much as $80 for the ride. 

The room was so creepy. The floor was dirty, there was moss growing in the bathroom, the bathroom window was taped shut with packing tape. It looked like the sheets hadn't been changed from whomever stayed there before us. Exhaustion and the language barrier got the better of us on this one. Upon leaving I noticed that their health code score is below neutral - I can't even imagine what they consider bad.

Creepiest night of my life

We were intercepted  at the airport airport hotel elevator and guided to the travel agency across the way. We were told that the the airport hotel was full and that Blue House Express  hotel was comparable. After 20 hours hours of traveling and complete exhaustion we had no reason to believe they were not telling the truth that the hotel was full ...until we arrived at the 1 star hotel. We paid $83.00 and the normal rate is $15. This was our honeymoon. 

Paid for 4 Star Hotel

I was offered this hotel once thrown from the terminal during a long layover. A mature Chinese man charged me $60 cash for a $ ten per night hotel. He noticed I was alone then assured me I would receive female company at the hotel if desired.
I arrived to the hotel thru a clay and mud neighborhood to a very simple hovel in a reconstructed area. The receptionist took my PP then began to ask me about my needs in a woman. I told her it was prepaid and she would do since it did not matter.
I got a sincere apology from her and told she would call someone for me. I refused and she said goodbye to me and that the shuttle would return in the morning for me.

I stood there while she asked if she could help me further. After a minute I asked if she intended to give me a room key m which she did reluctantly stating are you sure you want to stay here.

Room was definitely lower than a 1970's low end ghetto Motel six. The area is creepy.

Shanghai'ed

This hotel served its purpose. I cheap clean place to sleep for a few hours. Staff were nice. Room was standard. For the price it was exactly what we were looking for.
Has an airport shuttle to go back to the airport in the morning. We had to take a cab to the hotel though which was about $20.
No ATM near so fuel up your cash at the airport
