This is one of the most western style backpackers in Chengdu. If you are from a European country and wanting somewhere that reminds you of home, this is one of your best bets. The entire backpackers is very modern and clean throughout. It also is one of the safer hostels regarding belongings etc. There are a number of shared spaces including a rooftop area with swings! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and it is walking distance to the city center. The food was also really decent and they had a good crack at making western style food.

The staff was all extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. They wrote down directions for us in Chinese daily. They have a great restaurant and lounge area. Rooms were clean and comfortable!

Hostel that excedes expectations

Very helpful personnel, helps you with everything the guest asks for. Arranged a free rooftop garden party incl. barbeque food and drinks. The reception also includes a pool-table and a fussball-table. Really nice bar/restaurant as well in the hostel. Great athmosphere among the guests (both Chinese and international) staying here. I have nothing bad to say about this hostel.

Good location in Chengdu

This place is well located within the city center.  You could get your supplies within walking distant.  Plenty of public transportation just few steps away. You can just walk a short distant to the  subway train which you will lead you all over Chengdu City.  The staffs is very helpful in assisting booking of train,  air flight and etc.  And the local food is reasonably priced. It is a pleasure to walk around the city as the walkway is well kept. It is a good place to stay.

A 3-Star stay at a budget cost.

I was pleasantly surprised with the room my partner and I got considering we basically paid £21 for the night. It was basic but clean. We didn't have any problems with noise, one issue I did have was the heat! The aircon in our room was not working so it was uncomfortably warm at night due to the humidity. 

The bathroom was very good (again price considered). Only downfall was the grouting of the tiles needs doing as it was fairly mouldy. 

Staff polite and helpful. 

Can't complain with the price 

Great common area.  Double room was pretty clean and the staff dropped in fresh bottles of water everyday. Unfortunately  I the room didn't have any windows and bathroom smelled really bad (probably from mould) so had to keep the door shut the whole time. Staff were helpful in arranging shuttle to airport. This is a fine budget place for a few nights.

In the car park behind the tower block Zhu Feng hotel, this modern hostel has lots of pluses and a couple of faults. On the positive side it is in a great position fairly close to Luomashi metro station, with lots of good restaurants all around. There is always one helpful English speaking staff member and the rooms are large with comfortable beds and great showers in a clean modern building. On the negative side the WiFi was very poor and the building also hosts a print works which appears to work 24 hours a day and is audible from some rooms towards the front. It lives in a canyon between tower blocks so there are no real window views, but overall, with good bar and food and lots of young hip Chinese, it is a good and easy place to stay

Good Chengdu City Hostel

There were many things to like about this hostel, but too many of the important things weren't up to standards.  

The first room we checked had a toilet that wasn't functioning.  The staff grudgingly moved us to a new room after trying to convince us that there wasn't a problem with it.  The bathrooms in both rooms were dirty as well as the bathroom off the lobby.  I was surprised to see reviews stating this hostel is clean.  Our bathroom and shower were covered with mold.  Our air conditioner did not work.  We alerted the staff to the issue.  Someone took a look at it, but it was never fixed and no alternate resolution was offered.  

There is an industrial print shop beneath the hostel that operates 24 hours.  This results in loud thumping and whoring throughout the night as well as vibrations that can be felt in bed.  I would not have been able to sleep without ear plugs.  There is a large building under construction right next door.  The construction site seemed to be abandoned when we were there, but they will likely resume activity at some point, and the proximity will likely cause another noise issue.  

The brochure with recommendations provided upon check in included restaurants that had been knocked down for metro construction.   It also did not have up to date transit info.  This seems like a small frustration, but was extra aggravating in a place already so difficult to navigate with the language barrier.  

This place seems like it was once nice, but has not been well maintained.
