Thank you Mandy and Scott! It was a pleasure meeting you both and it was a pleasure spending the time up at Wolseley Lodge this September. We really enjoyed the arrangements and the hospitality offered by you and your staff.

Our 3-night stay at Wolseley Lodge (Americana Package) was an unforgettable experience. The resort with the amenities provided the perfect blend of relaxation, adventure (boating/fishing in the scenic areas of the French River), amenities of the site, and gourmet indulgence! The housekeeping and upkeep of all amenities including our cabin cleanliness, was commendable.

The resort's dining area offered picturesque views of the lake, enhancing the dining experience. From hearty breakfasts and pre-arranged 'lunch box (great touch) that fueled us for a day of fishing to gourmet dinners, and a dinner of "local pickerel" (catch of the day), every meal was a delightful surprise.

Fishing was great. Pike (all sizes), bass, and pickerel...we won't complain. Thank you for the live bait provided (we used minnows and worms), and we took advantage of the ‘Fish Cleaning Hut’ to fillet our first catch (pickerel/walleye).

Wolseley Lodge and the services of the resort, whether you're an avid angler or simply seeking a tranquil escape, was the ideal destination. We left with a heart full of gratitude and a promise to return next year. Anyone looking for a memorable getaway filled with good food, comfortable accommodations, and great people,… make Wolseley Lodge a part of your travels.

Our first visit to Wolseley Lodge and we were delighted!

We launched our boat here. They were very accommodating to us. Everything was good. I only wish I had known the water was lower than usual and so backing the off the launch gave me a prop strike on my brand new prop. No one’s fault tho but mine. We were launching at night. 

Great launching point

Spent 5 days at Wolseley Lodge fishing the French River. Really great lodge with very friendly staff and owners, great food, docking facilities, and cabins. The area is unreal with natural beauty, lots of rocky islands, rapids, and wildlife to see. The fishing was good. We caught around 60 fish, but nothing big. It’s a lot of water to cover in 5 days. I’d definitely recommend staying here and we’ll surely be back next summer. 

French River Fishing Trip

Came for a Father’s Day weekend fishing trip and have a stellar time. The new owners are great and really know what they’re doing. We felt cared for and all the staff always seemed to make the extra effort. Not to mention the fishing was great! We will be back.

Great Experience!

The first thing you notice when you arrive to check in is how well you are greeted by the Owners Harold and Ingrid. I'm not sure why there are comments of having to pay when you check-in. That is common practice for any resort that caters to Sportsmen and Women.
The first thing you notice when you enter the cabin and look around is how clean it is. We stayed four nights in cabin #9 and were quite comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need and the view of the Bay was a bonus. The boats are well kept and are equipped with electric start  motors c/w power tilt trim. All bait, nets, safety equipment and gas is supplied. One stop shopping. 
We enjoyed our stay so much that when we checked out we booked another trip for the following year. My fishing partner and I have stayed in a lot of camps over the years and we both agree Wolseley Lodge is by far the best one we've  been to.

My son and I spent 4 glorious days at this lodge. Everyone was very helpful and great st their roles
The meals were picture worthy and scrumptious.
Steak,Pickerel,pork tenderloin and schnitzel 
I tried to get Harold’s secret white wine sauce recipe but no success!!
The fishing was a bit slow no trophies but lots of action did one day with James as our guide very knowledgeable and put us in some good spots 
We would love to return sometime!!

Wow great fishing lodge

The moment you arrive, you will feel the friendly attention of Harald and Ingrid. Just the right amount of attention at the right time which shows that they know how to run a resort. German precision, comfort, home cooked meals with fantastic service in a friendly atmosphere. The amenities are just the right types for your getaway from the big city, very functional and geared to make your stay comfortable. Harald and Ingrid and the entire crew are very flexible and will get you what you need. Water sport rentals are very reasonably priced and available on a moment's notice. What we also liked very much was their friendly and excellent sense of humor.  Highly recommended and we will go back next year. Many thanks to Harald, Ingrid and the Crew!

Relax, you are in good hands...!

A rustic stay on the magnificent French River.  Rooms are spartan, but the hospitality and food are wonderful.  Harald and Ingrid are great hosts.  American Plan can't be beat. Prices also can't be beat.  While we didn't catch a lot of fish, the quality of the bites was amazing.  The boats are big and clean.  For sure to go back.

Must go there

We had stayed here 3 years ago and decided to go again and take my 80-something year old parents.  Harald and Ingrid made us feel so welcome.  We had a lovely cabin looking onto a smaller river and saw a playful little beaver one morning not far from our cabin.  The fishing is terrific based on comments from other guests and we did rent a pontoon boat on two different days.  While we weren't successful fishermen, we did enjoy the beautiful scenery and tranquility of the place.  Now, for the best part, the food is amazing.  We went on the American plan so that we were provided 3 meals per day.  Breakfast and dinner are served in their lovely dining room looking onto the bay while lunch is preordered and ready for you in the morning to take with you (great for fishermen who don't need to leave the water to get food).  The food is traditional home cooking, fresh and tasty.  On the American plan you have a wide range of breakfast options, lunch is sandwiches, homemade cookies, fruit and drinks and dinner is whatever is on for that night.  We had everything from salmon to chicken parm and all was delicious.  The staff are friendly and helpful, everyone from the dock crew to the kitchen staff made us feel welcome.  They have a lovely little beach and swimming area and a nice playground for children.  Having a little vacation close to home where I didn't have to cook and clean up was wonderful.  We can't wait to go back again.

Fishing, food and so much more

the reviews I see here made me choose this place.That was an error on my part.At check in you pay in full before you see the disappointment that lays ahead.The cabin is old ,ten feet from the one beside you ,no view and a total old cramped one bedroom cabin made into three over the last fifty years.Sitting on the toilet you can rest your head on the door. Total disappointment its a dump.For over 1k for three nights this is the epitomy of overpaying.No one asked how was your stay or how was the fishing they know the answer not good.Go elsewhere it couldnt be worse.
