A few small technical issues checking in but all sorted. The room was rather nice. There was a tray on my bed with a bouquet of flowers [artificial], two water bottles and three little chocolates; very classy. There was a coffee machine and a microwave. The toiletries were good. The sink was separate from the rest of the bathroom. Had to wait for the shower water to get hot. While my room was over the restaurant part of the complex it was quiet [a Monday night]. I parked out back. The hotel is in a good part of town for some touring, shopping and other restaurants. On the down side, I later realized the Booking confirmation notice was some $24.00 less than I was charged, putting a complete damper on things.

KEEP THOSE BOOKING CONFIRMATIONS HANDY

Excellent service and meals anytime, or day of the week.  A local gem that has earned its place as one of the best dining venues in our Town.  

A large and varied menu to accommodate most palates.  Western and European cuisine that has daily specials and special breakfast / brunches on the weekend.  Accessible to all.  Orders are cooked to your preference and have hearty, full portions.

Watch a game on the big-screen TVs, listen to local talent play on the stage or simply gather with your group for some good eating in a comfortable location.

A lovely, friendly, sport-pub style dining venue that welcomes the whole family!

Nice ambience throughout. Good patio for sitting outside on a scorching day. we had the wing special for $8 and most pints were about the same price. The wings were meaty and tasty but I've had better deals on wing specials.  I also thought that the pints would be a buck or two less outside the city.

Good pub food but some items a little pricey for a small town

An impromptu visit on Saturday night turned out to be a yummy meal for all involved. 

Although half our group opted for pub food- nachos, wings, and a delicious Rueben wonton appetizer, the other half ordered chicken taco salads and wild salmon dinner. The taco salads were large and served in an edible tortilla bowl. The girls loved them. My salmon was maple glazed, moist and delicious. The fresh veggies were crisp and tasting of garlic butter. 

All in all a nice surprise. I would defiantly will be back. Oh and the Caesar drink was delicious too.

 I didn't feel like paying 130 a night the other hotels, so I decided to stay at the Royal Duke. For 95 dollars it wasn't too bad. A small room but quiet and clean. The bar down stairs had awesome food and really nice staff. Definitely good value for your dollar

Cool place

This is a pub with rooms upstairs.

The rooms were basic but clean and quiet. The bathrooms was large and very clean.
The bed was comfortable. The room had an air-conditioner ..a bit noisy but OK. There was a flat screen TV which worked fine.Tea and coffee facilities are in the room.

The downstairs restaurant served good food at reasonable prices with generous portions.

The hotel was good value for  money but probably wouldn't suit people looking for five star luxury.

The price was a fraction of other hotels in the area and definitely worth considering. The rooms were secure and access to the upstairs was restricted to room key holders after 9pm.
