Wildhorse Mountain Guest Ranch

My friend and I ( both seniors) joined Carolin last Sunday for a  ride on the bluffs above Lake Okanagon. My friend is a novice, and I really wanted it to be a great experience for him. Carolin and her well- trained horses made it all look easy, and we both had a great ride. Carolin is friendly and knowledgeable, and the scenery is spectacular. Thank you.

I stayed two blissful nights at the Wildhorse Mountain Ranch. The location is gorgeous, hidden up a mountain side near Lake Okanagan, with horses and dogs roaming around the grounds. My room had it's own direct entrance and, while small was very comfortable. The owners are very friendly and made me feel very welcome. And  I have to say that the breakfasts were a delight.

Pet-friendly...very friendly staff...wonderful stay...great breakfast.....and room was clean and beds good...and lovely surroundings and view....loved the horses and of course CODYwill recommend...so different staying on a ranch than a regular hotel...Thank you

Even though this is a working ranch, there was no "farm smell" (if that is a concern for city folk like us)

Our stay was lovely. Our dog made new friends with the dogs on the property. It is a lovely place. Great breakfast. Thank you.

My partner and I stayed at Wildhorse Mountain Ranch for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. Homemade breakfast, trail rides, and the serene beauty of the mountains made this a 10/10 stay for us!The ranch is a log cabin situated on a hill surrounded by vineyards, mountainside and wildlife. There are dogs, cats, chickens, and a wandering old horse named Julia who greets you as you drive up the road (she is an old horse who roams freely around the ranch, visiting the other horses. We joked that she is the ranch gossip). A large hot tub sits on the deck and is an amazing place to look at the stars or to enjoy the sunset. The ranch is run by a lovely German couple who made us homemade breakfast every morning. There was no lunch/dinner service due to COVID-19, but they gave us some great dinner recommendations that were 15 minutes drive in Summerland. Smoking is allowed in the main area of the cabin, but as non-smokers we did not notice any trace of it. The bed was firm but comfy, and we shared a clean and rustic bathroom with one other room.We are beginners on horses and did 2 trail rides. They were fantastic! The horses are extremely calm, well-trained, and obedient; both of our rides took us up on the ridge overlooking the lake. It was relaxing and peaceful, and fun to watch the farm dogs race around the fields (the horses were unbothered by them). We’ve never seen such happy dogs!Overall it was a fantastic stay. One thing to note: it’s cash only. Enjoy!

We had an amazing experience at Wildhorse Mountain Guest Ranch. The ranch itself was lovely as our room had a view of the mountains and the horses. We went trail riding, (first-timer for me) and the experience was incredible! The horses were well-trained and the view was stunning. Our guide, Ava, was great as she was very knowledgeable. In addition, the pets at the ranch were adorable and the hosts were lovely with their hospitality. Bonus: Naramata wineries are just a short car-ride away. We hope to visit again soon!

Thank you, Brigitte and Jochen, so much for your generous and laid-back hospitality! We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Wildhorse Mountain. Due to our own procrastination in booking, we missed out on the room we wanted and settled for a very small room with two twin beds. Although we would have preferred the larger room with two queens overlooking the valley and grazing horses, the small room was comfortable enough... as we spent most of our time outside visiting with the horses and wandering the property. The location was a quick drive into Summerland and the local wineries. We were disappointed not to be able to enjoy a home-made dinner on-site (cancelled due to COVID-19), however, we enjoyed the substantial fresh fruit, bacon/eggs, cheese/meats, jams, breakfasts on the deck each morning. Our young"waiter" was a delight!  Our trail ride was a particular highlight for us... the horses very responsive and well-trained.... the view from the top of the ridge overlooking the lake and valley were breathtaking. We loved the friendly cats and dogs, and were especially privileged to get up close and personal with two young foals - so sweet!

Highly recommend a stay here if you love animals and are looking for a relaxing retreat and a taste of natural BC beauty.
