Just had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at Patterson Kaye. The staff was amazing! The owners even came to our table to see if we needed anything and thank us for coming. The food was awesome! There were A Lot of customers and lots of children who on the most part behaved well. Some, not so much. Makes it less enjoyable when kids are acting up and parents are unable or unwilling to do anything about it. Kudos to the owners and staff! We will be back again!

Awesome dinner and staff!

Just had the worst experience of all time with Patterson Kaye Lodge for thanksgiving. We booked a group of 40 and spent a lot of money supporting the business. I have a special needs child who was upset for literally 30
Seconds and the owner Mary Came over and told us we needed to leave. She scolded a 4 year old with special needs (autism) and made him feel awful and unwanted. My husband had to leave in the middle of eating with our two kids and take them home. I worked at this restaurant 2 months ago and assumed I’d expect nothing but kindness and understanding as they knew me on a personal and professional level. I also talked highly of this restaurant to my family which is why we decided to dine there in the first place. Long story short this establishment discriminates against disabled people and children. I’d highly recommend never going there if you have children or someone with special needs. It literally ruined my families thanksgiving. I will never dine there again nor will I recommend this place. Servers are nice but the owner clearly doesn’t know how to run a business or treat customers. I also never write bad reviews about businesses even if I had a bad experience. Discriminating against a child is where I draw the line. To top it off I mentioned the issue to multiple employees and they did nothing to try and correct it.

Never go if you have special needs children

We were a group of 10 ,attending a wedding at the resort .Vibes are good by the lake side .Dining area inside is a bit congested .bearers had to squeeze through the chairs for service .Washrooms were clean with basic ameneties .

We spent a family vacations at Patterson Kaye resort and it was terrible. We rented a Scotia cottage and that place needs to be demolish. I don't understand why they still rent this cottage. The housekeeping was impeccable, really clean, they should be extremely thankful that they have a good housekeeper like that because this is the only highlight about this place. It is an old wear out cottage that need major repairs.  It costed me 507.34$ for two nights. The pool and jacuzzi were closed due to repairs. They never mentioned that when I've called for the reservations. They should shutdown those cottages, it horrible. Don't go.

Worst place I've been in my life

My family and I have been going to this resort for the last 3 years and much to our disappointment the resort is getting worse and worse every season. When we arrived we found out their was no guest wifi available so you are using up all your data, the pool was not available which has been the case every year...it finally got filled a day or two before we left even though we were told it would be open when we arrived and no hot tub in place. We also received an email prior to our arrival that the restaurant would be closed on the Saturday and Sunday due to staffing issues and when it opened back up on the Wednesday, the wait staff did not seem to have their act together as they forgot to bring us the fries that went with the Chicken Wings which were the daily special. I had to track the waitress down to inform them of the oversight and rather than bring the fries for the individual orders, we ended up getting one basket to share among the four of us with no utensils to handle the food with. All of the mistakes were blamed on the "new chef". Their POS system only works in the lodge so trying to pay for our dinner on the patio didn't work at all. The ownership seems too concerned over the new vision of the over expensive condo villas that are still not ready that they have not maintained any of the existing cottages which have sliding doors that fall of the track constantly. My son's cottage had a roof that leaked when they came back from a day trip and they decided to head home rather than packing up their cottage to move to another cottage for their last night on the resort. When I asked the owner for a moment of his time to discuss our concerns, all he had was half hearted apologies and promises of compensation that did not come to fruition as well as a confrontational mannerism when I challenged him about the conditions of the resort. Very disappointed in our experience and will now be searching elsewhere in Muskoka for next year.

Disappointed

We stayed at the Miller House with friends and family over the labour day long weekend.  Although this cottage is dated but it is clean and cosy.
The location is a big plus for us, so close to everything, grocery, gas station and it is only a few min away fr the town.  Our cottage is facing a nice quiet river, excellent for watersport beginners.   We like the outdoor pool there too!
We had gone through reviews about the cottage and frankly we went there with not much expectations.  We knew there were some constructions going on but it didn’t bother us as all. As it turns out, it was a lovely stay and  exceed our expectations!
The owner is a friendly gentleman and he gave us a cottage tour and walked through the re-development there as well!

Exceed our expectations

Found this quite by accident, it came highly recommended by a local.  The restaurant has a patio right on the river and a lot of the clientele arrived by boat.  Perfect evening spent watching river traffic and sunset.

To  call Patterson Kaye a resort is a stretch. The  very dated cottage smelled musty and did not seem to be cleaned with sand on the floors upon arrival. The beds were so old we felt the springs and they smelled. We found chipmunks in our cottage  a few times, told management and their reply was " we thought the screen was fixed already" . They never repaired the screen. They are currently building a new unit and construction noise is terrible. The pool was closed by the health inspector . The only good thing was the restaurant which has limited hours and the location. There is a small beach.  There are many resorts in Muskoka but I can't recommend this one until management  updates these cottages.

Very tired and noisy resort.

We stayed at Patterson Kaye Resort from July 30th to Aug 3rd and had an absolutely wonderful stay. 
There was a family group of 15 of us staying in different cottages. The Abbey cottages were spacious, clean and cozy. 
The staff in both the resort and restaurant were both accommodating and pleasant, always smiling and stopping to chat and see how we were doing. 
The pool was closed but was not the fault of the resort. Having the beach, trails and water activities was more than enough to keep the adults and kids happy and busy throughout the day. 
The grounds and scenery are beautiful and you can see the work they are doing to make the resort an even better space in the years to come. Ourselves and family will definitely be back and anxiously awaiting our next summer getaway.

Muskoka Paradise

Do not stay at this place! The owner is a scammer who accuses customers of stealing items after check-out and proceeds to fraudulently charge their credit cards for missing items. Any attempt to discuss the matter ends with the owner abruptly hanging up the phone in mid-conversation. I have never experienced such unprofessional customer service as I have at Patterson Kaye Resort. Find a better place to stay where you will feel secure in knowing that you will be treated with respect and not subjected to rude and offensive behaviour.
