I was here just only 5 nights. It is a bit short but I got a really pleasant stay. I stayed in a specious Bungalow room with king size bed and reasonable price.
Staff are the most friendly ever, feel so warm from them such as family. Thank so much for your cold welcome Mr. Sophat , Mr. Rouy , Mr. Oudom and others.. 
Really appreciate with cocktail.. Pinacolada.. 
The white sand beach is so beautiful with blow wind... (Longset Beach)
I will be back here once again...

The most friendly staff..😘

Highly recommended! We stayed in the bungalow for a week and we didn’t want to leave! This accommodation was one of the best places I’ve stayed in this far! lovely tropical bungalows, also the restaurant served us wonderful food (the best curry ever!) but the best part was the crew, which really helped us in any situation or problem we’ve had and were very open minded! Thank you so much for everything!

The best vibe ever!

We originally booked a 3 night stay in 1 of their bungalows for around $33 a night. Bungalow was clean and spacious with our own bathroom. We loved it so much that we extended for another week!! We got it at a discounted price too which was good. The staff were amazing, really friendly and included you in all the fun activities. Liam was really helpful and our check in was quick and we were greeted with a big smile. Our room was near the front so was a bit noisy the first night but all nights after we were up drinking and having fun so it didn’t matter. The beach is clean and beautiful. Food and drinks are cheap and nice. We did pop out to eat a few nights tho as there isn’t a massive choice. I am already planning my trip next year and will definitely pop back here for a few nights! Well done guys! We felt really welcomed and looked after.

We had a few drinks and played the pub-quiz which was hard but great fun!
Cheap drinks and friendly staff that speaks good English. Be sure to visit if around!

Reef on the beach is definitely the best hostel to be in on koh rong. Activities, sports, games, you name it. Awesome staff with great food and drinks options.
So many different types of accomodation to choose from right on the beach your feet in the sand. 
Will defenitely book here again next time!

Best hostel on 4k beach!

Arrived and went to check in by a rude western staff member. Tall, very skinny boy with brown hair in a bun and ‘nest’ hostel wrist bands on. Poor attitude. Didn’t smile or greet us, just looked at us with a sour look and asked for the money with no please or thank you. 
Also $30 a night for a tent is pretty steep so I would expect a smile or thank you. 

Clearly has never worked in hospitality and doesn’t understand greeting people or being polite is the main part of working in hospitality. Really tarnished our stay, wouldn’t recommend the place to others. 

Same with some Khmer staff member (good English) rude about asking what table number when we didn’t have a table number. Again, unnecessary to be rude to people who aren’t even aware there is table numbers. Our table didn’t have a number.

The place is beautiful. Just a shame about the western staff member who was working on reception, and the Khmer staff man taking orders. Can eat cheaper and be treated nicely at other hostels along this strip! Recommend going elsewhere unless you don’t mind people being rude to you for the expensive price. 

(Other western staff we dealt with were pleasant enough. But the one on reception, probably should learn to smile and be polite to customers).

We had a reservation for 6 nights in the ocean view bungalow. The check in process was fine. Location brilliant. 
However when we arrived in our bungalow, I was gobsmacked at the level of dirt that was ingrained in to the place. The toilet was stained brown and had obviously not seen a cleaner since the 1920’s. I struggled to brush my teeth because the sink was full of dirt. The shelving area had an inch of black dirt over the top. There was no point in even looking in the mirror because you could not see yourself past the yellow stains. 
What came next was pure horror. I appreciate the wildlife in Cambodia and the reason for mosquito nets. I have no problem with lizards etc around the room. However the bungalow was infested with rats and when we returned from the beach in the evening one was crawling around our room. We immediately checked in next door for the remainder of our time on the island (and had a brilliant stay).
The morning after we told the staff we were checking our earlier because we had found rats in our room. We never even asked for a refund as we had paid upfront upon check in. The young girl was lovely but the manager who came over was extremely rude. He accused us of eating a pizza in our room hence the rat infestation. We told him a number of times that we did not bring any food near the bungalow and he could check inside for litter etc if he wished. (You would not be able to eat in there anyway because it is so dark you can not see your food). 
He then asked why we had not told him the previous night to which I explained I had checked in straight next door and I would not continue to stay there regardless. He then blamed us for him not being able to fill the room one night earlier. 
We did have drinks and food in the restaurant area one evening. Standard island food. However we could not use the toilets as they were also filthy. The whole place just feels dirty even down to the mouldy bottles of tomato sauce. 
The place also stinks of cannabis from first thing in the morning to late evening. We were asked numerous times by the bar staff before we had chance to order did we want to buy weed. Now if people chose to do that then fine, but at least let us order a drink before pouncing on us.
Save yourself the hassle and stay elsewhere unless you are comfortable with feeling dirty for the duration of your stay.

Do not stay here.

We really enjoyed our stay here; we were meant to stay for 2 nights but extended to 4. The dorm room was way too hot though so we moved to a private bungalow and paid €15 a night - we thought this was reasonable as it works out as €7.50 each. I think the dorms were around €5 each a night so definitely worth it. The beach is so nice and the sandbank bar (a 5 minute walk down the beach) was good to chill in in the day. Would definitely stay here again but only in the bungalows ! (Remember to take mosquito spray too!) 

Reef on the Beach review

I stayed here a week. The beach is absolute paradise and the facilities along it are great including the hammocks and volleyball pitch. Plankton glistening in the sea as you swim. I really wanted to use my drone here to get some footage but mine would not work but the owner dave came out and leant me his own which was even better than mine. Amazing time and trust, great for a party! Lifetime memories forever! Charles

We didn't get to stay here as it was all booked up, but we did some time eating, drinking and taking part in some of their activities.

The whole staff are hilarious fun and make sure you have a good time. The guys behind the bar are very friendly if you strike up a conversation with them, otherwise they'll leave you to your own devices.

We ended up entering (and surprisingly not losing) a quiz and had a great laugh watching supposedly fully grown adults playing musical chairs!

Food selection was quite vast and tasty too. Same on the drinks. 

I do wonder what it would have been like to stay in a tent on the beach, so maybe I'll try that when I come back :-)
