This is the main place to exchange money on Koh Rong island. The host deliberately fooled us when we took out $200, and gave us one of his $100 notes and hid it underneath with 2 tears, which means it is virtually unusable in Cambodia. He took advantage of us as we were in a rush for the ferry. They are scammers, and should be ashamed of themselves for targeting us in this way.


SCAMMERS - DO NOT TAKE MONEY OUT

Awful place, stay somewhere else! The staff are rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. We have been travelling for several months and this is one of the worst places yet. The room is tiny and basic but that is not our main issue. Next door there is a bus company that has the audacity to BLAST the most horrific drum and bass I have ever laid my ears on until 1am in the morning!!! The white rose staff couldn’t care less and did nothing to rectify this. It got to the point where I went over and asked them politely to turn it down myself. It was a room full of men smoking and they literally ignored me and went straight back to playing it. I have never been more frustrated and lacking sleep than I have at this place. NEVER AGAIN!!!

DO NOT STAY HERE. They are rude and you will  NOT sleep.

Stayed here for 5 nights as it was a good budget option hotel! The room was nice, not the biggest but clean and the shared bathrooms where also nice and clean! The room does only have a fan so did get quite hot but can’t expect much more from what we paid! Amazing location right on the beach front near lots of restaurants and shops! The staff also gave us 10% off the food at the restaurant below which was a nice touch as the food was good! We would leave a higher rating but the loud music brings it down abit! Apart from that if you need a nice affordable place to sleep whilst on Koh Rong then this is your place!

Good budget option!

We didn’t stay here however we did eat food here, and the food was great and very reasonably priced. This place is situated right on the corner of the main strip of bars and restaurants, and is very convenient if you are near the ferry port.
The staff are very friendly, and we even let them help organise a trip to see the glowing plankton ($5 per person) which we were really appreciative of.
There is free WiFi and we had a nice evening here.
Would definitely recommend eating here.

Good food and pleasant staff

I know that the island is very touristic, but the food was really, really bad. You can have tastier food at any food stall. We had the barbecue with fish (red snapper): the fish was almost raw), we guess that the grill was not ready or they have no idea what “grill/ barbecue” means. The side dishes were very basic, nothing special. 
We had also the squid with green pepper: unfortunately really bad quality, it should be stir fry, but it was like cooked in slow flame. They put green, yellow and red sweet pepper inside and some of this vegetables were not really fresh.
We were very disappointed since food in Southeast Asia is really awesome and this was as far the worse food during the last three weeks (and comparing with other similar places more expensive). 

Best food? Not at all!

The dorms are pretty atrocious with holes in the mosquito nets and windows that don’t close properly, therefore hearing every single bit of noise until the early morning. The rooms weren’t much better when we moved to them either, with the walls so thin that you can hear whispers next door. Definitely don’t stay here if you’re wanting a good sleep, but I suppose that’s like a lot of places near the main pier. Bathrooms were shared between a lot of people and were extremely dirty and smelly at some points. Food made my boyfriend and myself extremely unwell, giving us diarrhoea and severe vomiting for days on end. It is a decent price compared to a lot of other rooms though and the meals were not very expensive, also providing 15% off if you slept there, along with a free beer per meal. Staff were friendly with quite good english. Did provide free washing services. 

Decent price but pretty rough

We didnt stay but we used the restaurant. Most restaurants we checked during 5 night stay in Koh rong ware below the average to average. At least this one offers the food at normal prices and thats why its the first one to be full.

Koh Rong does not have many options so locals are used to the idea that whatever price they say anyway they will sell.

Ate here with a group of friends and we all enjoyed our dinner, i had the burrito and it was one of the nicest burritos i have had, sweet potato fries were also nice, prices are good also and get a free beer with main meal

Good food, recommend

reading through the other reviews I thought I had the wrong restaurant. We ate here three times and everything was so tasty! Massive portions and friendly staff. You get a free drink with every meal ordered so for 4 dollars you can get a massive plate of food and a drink! 
Would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone! 

Best restaurant! 

We didn't stay at the guesthouse, but we frequented the White Rose restaurant every morning. We love how big the servings were, and barbecue at night was great for the price. A little bit pricier than the others though.
