Lovely hostel located just a short walking distance from the historic centre. Run by a very friendly lady. Rooms are clean. Linen and towels are provided. There is air conditioning in each room.  It is very peaceful. 

Great location 

This is a lovely , clean, well decorated and peaceful place. The proprietor is a very nice lady. It is quiet and good for a place to retreat and sleep after exploring Salvador. 

The location is walking distance from the main square and attractions. 

Lovely hostel in Salvador near Pelourinho

This is a wonderful hostel. It is decorated in a very classy way and is very clean. There is air conditioning in the rooms, which is helpful because Salvador is HOT in the summer. There is no breakfast, but there is a panaderia (bakery) about 2 minutes from the door. 

It is a 5 to 6 minute walk to the Largo do Pelourinho, which is the main plaza of the historical district of Salvador, where the concentration of tourist sites are (colourful houses, spectacular churches, interesting shops) 

There is no name on the building (which I think may be confusing to travelers/new arrivals) but it can be recognized by the all-blue exterior decor and blue lights. just ring the doorbell. 

The proprietor Edu lives in the house and is very sweet and helpful. I am very thankful to her for making my stay a pleasant one.

It is also one of the few budget options in the area. I was there around New Year's time, a very busy time in Brazil, but the rates were still reasonable. This is in contrast to pousadas, who offered private rooms, but at six times the price of a bed at Blue! in addition, when I was there, there was hardly anyone in the hostel so I got the entire dorm to myself for most of the stay. 

The only caveat is that the road that the hostel is located on looks a bit run-down. But I never felt unsafe. In fact, it actually felt safer than staying in the center of Pelourinho, which gets quite sketchy at night once the police go home. 

I would highly recommend this hostel. You will get a quiet and pleasant stay for a very affordable price.

Wonderful hostel in Salvador

Stayed one night in a bunk room. Excellent stay, got linen&towel and everything very clean. Walking distance to the old center Pelaurinho, ideal. Bring your own breakfast, kitchen available to prepare. The street does not look nice, very old, but once inside it is ok!
