We stayed at Villa Petra in Medugorje. Wonderful people, treated us like family, in-fact we were invited to their family Christmas-eve dinner and Christmas day lunch. 
They are happy to help with transportation from and to the airport for a nominal price.

Pietro, Marija, Zdravka, Isabella and their children Christian, Petra and Joseph made us feel at home
They are the most welcoming, generous, friendly, loving and caring hosts ever
Food is home made using fresh home grown ingredients from their own garden
Pietro makes his own wine, grapa, sherry and even his own salami
Food is absolutely delicious and abundant
Rooms are spotless and comfortable with a balcony
Villa Petra is literally 5 minutes away from the Apparition Hill
We 100% recommend Villa Petra. You won't regret it

Soooo pleased!!!

I wouldn't recommend this home if you are used to a hotel. You are basically getting a room with a private bath. Bring your own bath soap, shampoo and conditioner as it will not be provided. It's very close to Apparition Hill and about 15 minutes away from Saint James Church. The family seems nice but they speak very little English.

One step above a hostel

Room was clean and spacious. Owner invited us for first communion family gathering for desert. Only had breakfast once, but it was worth 5 Euros as we had eggs, fruit, coffee, tea, bread, etc. There is a wide short cut through the fields from the bottom of Apparition Hill to the church which will save about 5 minutes from the 20-25 minutes following the road. There is a restaurant across the street that is nice to eat at, The only down side is that it is far from the center of town.

Quiet and friendly place to stay

we had a lovely trip the hotel is close to the apparition hill. You can either walk to church which is only about 10 - 15 min walk or share a cab for 5 euros its a pilgrimage. and it was a good place will go again to this hotel.He can even arrange to pick you up from airport which is great.

Friendly owners who greeted us warmly on our first night stay in Medjugorje. They gave us some helpful info on where the apparition hill was and where the houses of the visionaries are too. Breakfast was fresh and nice. The downside is the air con was weak and so it wasn't very cool in the room and it was located near the bathroom which made it more difficult for the rest of the room to get cool.  Also, apparition hill is not as close as it seems from the hotel - about 30mins walk. There were other pansions located more closer to the apparition hill than this one in which we stayed.

The owners were pleasant, communication was a little hard but they did understand mostly what was conveyed.  The location was close to Apparition Hill and the church was walkable distance or 5 Euro taxi drive.  The taxis passed the Pension regularly and only had to stand outside for a moment before one arrived. The accommodation was very clean and good value for price.

Great location

I booked villa petra because of the good review but when we arrived they moved us to Pansion ANA without any explantion or apology..., 1 block away. Brothers they said but the people in Pansion ANA cannot communicate, they basically give us the room and left you alone.

 we booked for 3 nights, the room is not cleaned and not given new towels until the last night, they left it in front of the room in plastic bag, breakfast is not included too in the price, we didnt know until the bill came out.
We have to clean our own rubbish and put it outside the room. The rooms are one level with breakfast room , it can be very noisy when groups need to go out early.
The first day  of breakfast was very dissapointing.,. biscuits and instant coffee and eggs of your choise. But we saw
 local groups with nicer breakfast and we asked for it and the next day it is worth 5 Euro pp a day.. ham & cheese,, proper coffee ( not instant) and eggs.
The owner is a husband and wife, only wife can speak english but she is busy with toddler and new born .. only husband serving the breakfast... when we ask something he cant answer...  they also didnt tell us anything about the regular event in mejugorje... ie every wed  there is a talk in orphanage etc...
dissapointing.....
