We had a sublime few days at Sensor with our kindest of hosts, Lee and Andrew! The setting is simply beautiful, within easy reach of the gorgeous coastline and Coffs. From the very first moment of walking into this quiet, serene home, it felt like home. Lee and Andrew were kind and sensitive to our needs and we had the most wonderful conversations around the fireplace in the evenings. The whole experience was rejuvenating and restorative. We cannot rate it highly enough for that special couples getaway.

Sublime getaway

Lee and Andrew were perfect hosts. Beautiful surroundings and excellent breakfast. We thoroughly relaxed for three days in a very caring environment. Nothing was too much trouble and we really enjoyed the personal touch.

Peace and tranquility

My husband and I stayed two nights in the Pool house and it was clean, quiet and tranquil. For $890.00 for two nights however we may have expected a little more luxury, still we appreciated the setting and landscaping. 
As Sensom had advertised their BBQ and outdoor dining area as a good option for guests to enjoy their dinner, my husband and I decided this would be a lovely idea. 
Given there are strict rules that NO FOOD be eaten in the rooms, an outdoor BBQ was a great idea and we bought our supplies. 
Unfortunately when we went to use the BBQ is was filthy, just disgusting. It had cobwebs, mould and residue it had not been cleaned in months!! Prior to discovering this we  mentioned to the host that we may indulge in a BBQ and she was definitely quick to suggest we eat out. 
All in all it was a nice stay and Lee was a very pleasant host, but it was truly well over priced.

Nice but over priced

WE have just stayed 3 nights with the retreats wonderful hosts Andrew and Lee.  We were fortunate to have the Pool Villa, right alongside their beautiful pool.  Andrew and Lee are the perfect hosts; engaging and interested in their guests.

You are immediately hit with the sense you are in someones home, with beautifully curated lounge dining and waiting room.  The rooms are simply but tastefully styled, and you immediately feel relaxed on entering.

Lee serves a great breakfast. Perfect amount without overdoing it.  The retreat is the prefect size, where wet rarely saw other couples. We came and went as we wanted and popped in and out of Coffs for evening meals.

Without a doubt the most important member of staff is their beautiful dog - Luca!  She greets and 'assesses' you on arrival, giving the nod of approval.
The grounds of the retreat are in 6 acres of beautiful Lilly ponds and rain forest inspired plants.

This is a true hidden oasis away from the bustle of downtown Coffs Harbour, yet only 3 minutes by car to Sapphire Beach, which for the most part is very quiet, but an un patrolled beach!

We will be back next year for a couple of nights, enroute to Brisbane.

A HIDDEN OASIS IN THE HINTERLAND OF COFFS

I booked to stay here in January 2021 for 2 nights, understanding the terms a conditions which advised that you are committed for the full $350 per night payment within 30 days of arrival. As a result of circumstances beyond my control, I had to change my booking to a few days later but could only secure 1 night, which I did. I was advised that I would be liable for 2 days, even though I had to revise the booking for the one night that was available. The owner advised that, should one of my original nights be rebooked by another customer, I would be refunded one night and only have to pay for the revised night booked. This turned out to be the case and I sent an email to the property to request a refund of my pre-paid monies. The response accused me of questioning the owner’s integrity, for simply requesting the refund that was promised. He also cancelled all my accommodation, unilaterally because of my request for the refund. I did, in fact receive all refunds, but was left without accommodation.  I have subsequently booked elsewhere but obviously the owner cared little about leaving a customer in the lurch. I would avoid this place, due to the attitude of the owner/managers towards their livelihood, their CUSTOMERS!!

Be aware of Terms and Conditions and Owners attitude

It's away from the hustle and bustle of Coffs and no kids,  which was what we were looking for.  The hosts were friendly and welcoming and the property is gorgeously tranquil. They took their covid plan seriously which we liked - made us feel safe. 

Our room was very stylish with our own private balcony area. Breakfast was excellently prepared and delicious - 5 stars for this alone. We had a relaxing time and will be back.

Loved or stay

We stayed for one night as a stopover from Byron Bay back to Sydney, the hosts (Lee & Andrew) were very welcoming (as an aside, we are a gay couple and there were no concerns from the hosts, which can sometimes arise at some BnBs). The home, gardens and our room (The Lakeview Suite) were all beautifully presented and very clean. The location is minutes from Coffs Harbour with Uber and Taxis no problem if you want to have dinner in Coffs. Breakfast was two courses and very enjoyable, made even more special by sitting on the outdoor deck overlooking the stunning gardens. We have been fortunate to stay at some of the finest hotels around the world, this little treasure sits comfortably alongside those experiences, we would highly recommend Sensom Luxury B&B!

Fabulous stay, highly recommended

What a lovely and relaxing experience staying here. Andrew and Lee are great hosts...welcoming and informative. The breakfasts are delicious, rooms clean and comfy and gardens are beautiful. So much to see locally and Andrew gave us some great tips on places to visit, that turned out to be just magical. Highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.

Beautiful location

Five stars for a BnB, four in comparison to a luxury hotel, views, etc- I was a bit trepidatious of staying at a BnB as opposed to a hotel.  I shouldn’t have been. Lee and Andrew are consummate hosts, the space is beautiful and the breakfast was amazing, especially in the garden setting. Everyone mentions the gardens, but they are astounding, it’s like living in your own private botanic garden. The  room was lovely, very clean, comfortable and had everything you would need. I’m sure they would organise anything needed that wasn’t there already. Doggy cuddles (only if you want them) were the icing on the cake. Thank you both, we’ll be back!

Amazing BnB!

This is the place to start to get away from it all! A tropical paradise - nestled on a mountain side surrounded by palm trees. We enjoyed the beauty and sounds of nature - frog calls, birds and waking to the gentle rustle of leaves. Lee and Andrew were exceptional hosts - warm, welcoming and hospitable. Breakfast was delicious. Their place is beautifully decorated. Worth the stay.
