We had a very disappointing stay in the stables, which we fedback to the owners, with no response, there were many issues as follows:  dead flowers in a vase of brown stagnant water, two packets of cornflakes which had reached their best before date 2 weeks prior, there were two womens magazines that were a year old. Extensive mould in shower. There are two entrances to unlock before getting inside, and the only lightbulb had been removed, and being an extremely dark lane, was very difficult to get in.
There was only half a roll of toilet paper, and the kitchen drawers could not be opened, unless you opened the pantry door, which only opened half way. There were significant stains on the carpet in theain bedroom, and the mattress was extremely old. In general the furniture was not placed in a user friendly way, and the apartment was dirty.
I would not recommend this property to anyone, especially as the owner could not even respond.

The Arches Stables apartments in Robe SA

Had a fantastic stay over the March long weekend. Plenty of room and everything was supplied for what we needed for a few days.
Fantastic location, easy and quick to walk to all restaurants, pubs, cafes, the beach, the Marina and Golf Course.
Would recommend it for couples or small family.

Great Stay

Loved the cottage with its old world charm. Although it was a cool weekend and the cottage not warm we enjoyed every minute. The bedrooms were small but cute and the kitchen table was our favorite place. The only annoying thing was the front door that was difficult to lock.

Upon arrival to Annie's Spa Apartment the hot water service was not turned on, when we contacted the owner about this his telephone manner was very rude and unprofessional and he offered no apology for his failure to check the hot water service was turned on prior to our arrival.  On inspection of the accommodation we observed the following issues: old food and spilt drink left on the lounge and chairs, old and uncomfortable pillows and mattresses which could not be slept on at all, dead mosquitos on the walls with old blood stains from previous guests, no screen door on the front entrance so we were all (including our 3 month old baby) bitten by mosquitos during our stay, spider poo in the chest of drawers in the first bedroom, dirty windows, dried spill marks on the bedside cabinet in the second bedroom, a leaking toilet, an unclean bathroom with lime scale on the shower head and only a small piece of soap provided for 2 people staying 4 nights 5 days, rusted oven trays in the kitchen etc.

This accommodation does not represent what is described on the website.  If you choose to stay at this accommodation we highly recommend you do not pay for the accommodation in advance, as the owner is certainly not interested in taking any complaints you may have about the accommodation seriously.  It's the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in and we have no plans to ever return to Robe as a result of this very negative experience.  We took this matter further by making a complaint to local authorities, but unfortunately the owner was not held to account.  Not a good look for Robe as a holiday destination.

Terrible Accommodation - We did not get what we paid for!

I'm afraid we have to agree with the majority of reviews of this property. When we arrived to No 16, the place was freezing cold and the A/C didn't work, which Ken the owner conceded was true after we called him. He suggested turning on the oven but I couldn't get it to work. As for the cosy fire? No wood. It's BYO. Seriously. There was a very hard-working little blow heater provided though. Too cold to bathe the next morning. Slept in all our clothes! If we had paid less money, we may have been more understanding but when this place cost more than a Comfort Inn at Port Fairy, well we really expected it to be as good, if not better. So, it is not actually a place we would ever return, let alone recommend. However, we did have a DELICIOUS dinner in town at Sails.
