We really enjoyed our time at the barn (mum, dad and 2yo).  It was the perfect escape from suburban life to experience something completely different.  Firstly, the barn itself was fantastic!  The day we arrived was super hot outside yet the barn was so nice and cool inside without the need for air conditioning.  Plenty of space in the barn and it was so thoughtfully furnished with some nice touches like the little mice (not real ones) hidden around the barn to find throughout the stay.  The main shower/ bathroom was heavenly.  Another great touch was the local milk, bread and juice left out for us along with butter, jam and numerous condiments to use when cooking our own meals.  Another great touch was the farm fresh eggs and the yummy blackberries that we picked fresh each afternoon. 
By far the highlight for us was seeing the absolute joy and excitement on the face of our little girl feeding the goats, ducks, chickens, highland cows and alpacas. After being shown how to do the feeding the first day by farmer Matthew, we were then left to our own devices to do the feeding after that which we absolutely loved.  
We were sad to go and would love to return again someday soon. Highly recommend the barn for those looking for an easy, fun and relaxing farm stay experience.

Great country escape

We loved the whole experience.  Wouldn't change a thing.  The Barn was a perfect space for two couples and a toddler.  The design and style of the Barn is beautiful, we kept noticing little touches that made the space so special. 

The bedrooms and bathrooms were fantastic and the beds were comfy. 

There's a full size washing machine and dryer (we used the clothes line as the weather was warm).  There's a  dishwasher too if you need it.  

Jo and Matthew made us feel very welcome and were always there to provide the food to feed their gorgeous animals.  We all had our favourites, but for me Thor is the majestic king of them all.  

Cygnet is perfectly located making a trip to Bruny Island, Hobart or further south to the caves an easy day trip. 

We stayed 4 nights but could easily have stayed for a few weeks.

PERFECT.  Wouldn't change a thing.

We spent 2 nights (last minute booking) in this absolutely beautiful Farm Stay. The Barn has been immaculately refurbished into the most wonderful country farm home, a warm and cozy feeling. The property has everything that is needed. The Farm offers a walk around feeding session each evening and the Goats are so friendly and always willing to have a pat. The property is super private with amazing views over the orchids and hills.
There are hidden little treasures within the home which you can use so be sure to take a good look. Lots of activities for the kids and a range of gumboots which was the perfect touch!
The property is big enough for larger families/friends or just a couple. The property is close to local attractions. This was the perfect place to stay whilst hiking in the snow at Mt Hartz. This was a hidden gem which we found and didn't want to leave. Will be back without hesitation. Thank you so much for our stay.

An Absolute Rare hidden Gem

The Barn was a gorgeous place to stay. Jolanda was very kinda and helpful in accomodating me and my partner to use the air bnb to take some wonderful photos on our wedding day. 

The barn has a lovely unique style and the animals and orchards around are great. Feeding the animals was a little fun too!

Beautiful place inside and out

We love visiting Eden Farmstay! We have been visiting once or twice a year since my daughter was 2 and a half, and she is now almost 6. The wonderful thing about visiting the farm is that it doesn't matter what time of year we go, there is always something interesting happening. The accommodation was always clean and comfortable, but the new barn conversion has taken it to a new level of comfort and style. Matt and Jo are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The highlight is the daily feeding of the animals. I'm hoping that we will be lucky enough to see the Aurora Australis from the Barn deck next time we are there, it's the perfect spot. We missed it by one night last time we were there!

We are repeat visitors - we love it here!

We spent two nights here straight after a long flight with three young kids. The Barn has everything that you need and is beautifully decorated. Great breakfast provisions and has all the basics to help put together a meal. The beds are comfortable and spacious and the whole barn is a relaxing paradise. The kids (and adults) absolutely loved the animal feeding and there was lots to explore on the property. A 5 minute drive into the town centre where there are great cafes and shops to stock up on whatever you need. We could have very comfortably stayed for a week or more. Matthew and Jolanda are lovely and accommodating and we look forward to coming for another stay!

Fantastic Family Stay

We had 2 nights in the newly renovated Barn with another family. The Barn was authentic with its country touches and it was incredibly spacious, warm, comfortable and had everything a family could want. Amazing renovation. Stunning surroundings with well maintained property. 

The highlight for the kids (and adults) were all the animals. The kids loved feeding all the goats, sheep, chickens, highland cows and alpacas. The goats and sheep were a highlight for the kids as they spent hours in the paddock playing and feeding them. Matthew was so patient with the kids and nothing was a problem. The farm was close to Cygnet and Huonville with lovely shops. This stop was a definite highlight for us all. We hope to back again soon! A fabulous find…Eden Farmstay is amazing!

Had a lovely 2 nights in Eden Cottage. The weather wasn't the best, but we're still able to enjoy feeding the animals and explore the farm. The cottage is clean with basics provided including eggs, milk, bread, butter, muesli, jam, tea and coffee. The heating and lights were on when we arrived which was welcoming. Eden would suit a small family. We had a lovely day trip to Tahune Airwalk and first Sunday of the month to Cygnet markets. DVD collection, books and new toys was good for the evening. Would stay again

A home away from home

We stayed as a family with 6 adults, 2 children and 2 babies at the farm house.  This was our second attempt at a family reunion with the first cancelled due to Covid restrictions.  So we eagerly arrived hoping for a  fun, relaxing weekend. We were not disappointed. The farmhouse is large and well proportioned with plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen/dining area is well and generously provisioned, including breakfast.  The bedrooms were beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with many charming touches.  The highlight without a doubt was the animal feeding. Our two three year olds were just in awe and soon overcame nerves to join in the feeding.  They also loved the adventure playground and blackberry picking.  A great BBQ area and fire pit with marshmallows and toasting forks provided. What an adventure for young and old.  Quiet, peaceful and only a few minutes drive into Cygnet.  Thank you Jo and Matthew for a memorable weekend.

Wonderful adventure for whole family

Loved that we were in a true rural setting. 
Loved that I could sit with my cup of tea and look out of the doors and see paddocks and animals.

Eden cottage was a perfect base for us to explore the Huon Valley and take a day trip to Bruny Island. We would definitely stay again if back in the region.
