Croc Valley Camp

I absolutely loved my stay at Croc Valley. The camp is stunning and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend anyone who visits the South Luangwa to stay here for a few nights.

The game drives offered were amazing, saw leopard every day and lions very regularly. 

Fantastic views from our campsite.  Friendly owners.  Bar area for evening sundowners and a pool for swimming.  Monkeys are an issue but if you are careful then shouldn’t bother you too much. We spent the night listening to the hippos in the river.

Right at the river bank of Luangwa and next to the park entrance, Croc valley is an ideal place for you to stay. My wife and I just visited Croc Valley, what an amazing place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff, always with a welcoming smile. And Herbert Mkanda makes sure you are enjoying your stay. With knowledgeable guides, game drives were the highlights of our stay. We managed to see the big four of the big five and loads of wild animals. I would recommend Croc Valley for your next safari holiday in South Luangwa national park, Zambia. As for myself am visiting again next year. Thanks Croc Valley and see you next year.

Croc Valley was our objective in a one month camping trip, and it proved to be spectacular. Apart from visits in camp by Ellies, Hippo and yes Wild Dog, the sites were well maintained and spacious with splendid facilities. The rides into the park were spectacular however the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was exemplorary, even when it came to punctures and broken jockey wheel. If you have a bucket list for Southern African adventure, stick this one at the top !!

I booked with my family (8 in total) four river front tents for four nights with full board. We initally booked for 2020, due to Covid, we could only travel in 2022, while Croc Valley just kept our reservation without problem. Transfer with a van from and to Lusaka was conveniently organised. Location of the tent along the river is magnificent. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. The game drives were  amazing, we had very good sights of leopards, pity that we didnt see any lions. Food is good and plenty too. Special compliments for the cooks who really dealt well with our dietary requirements (gluten and lactose free). Lastly, Croc Valley really provides value for money, I can really recommend them if you are travelling on a limited budget. And South Luangwa might be one of the nicest Parks you will ever see.

We had a great Safari experience with Croc Valley. It already starts with the excellent location of the lodge and the bar/restaurant just above the river shore: crocs and hippos right underneath your nose and in the evening elefants crossing the river. We booked morning and night drives and a walking safari and our guide (Chadric) was absolutely superb and knowlegable.  The walking safari was amongst the best safari experiences ever. And one night a huge elefant crossed the camp.

One mor hint: We tried to walk to the lodge from Mfue, but this is not recommended. Encounters with Elefants and Buffaloes are highly probable, even outside the boudaries of the national park. Better pay the taxi a little extra fee to deliver you at doorstep.

This was a great place, next to the river and park entrance. It was easy to see hippos and crocodiles during the day from the bar, and I had elephants, hippos and a hyena outside my chalet during the night. 
The staff here are the best, especially the guide Simon, who helped me to see so much wildlife (6 leopards in 5 game drives!). 
I definitely recommend staying here if you visit South Luangwa.

I visited Croc Valley with two friend and it was the highlight of our 6 months of travelling. The service throughout our whole time there was amazing and each member of staff went above and beyond what was needed. All of our game drives were excellent and we were lucky enough to see 4 of the big 5, big shout out to Bernard for making this happen! Each meal was delicious and we were never left hungry, Philimon was an excellent waiter the whole time. Finally a big shout out to Herbert who helped us organise the next stage of our travels when we were stuck with where to go. 
I will be going back, even if just to hear the hippos eating next to your tent at night!

Incredible staff, hospitable, warm and welcoming. Highly comfortable accommodation, top notch facilities, gym and swimming pool were well maintained. The animals roaming through the camp were a magical experience, I’d recommend this camp to anyone travelling solo, or as a group through Zambia. If you’re looking for a more budget friendly immersive safari experience, this is it.

If you are looking for great food, bar, staff, and safari experience, then Croc Valley is the place for you.  With different types of accommodations, this will give you choices on how you want to live on your stay.  The safari's experiences are great and I highly recommend doing a combo of night and morning safaris.  A guide to use there is Banard as I have used him three times and he is a very experienced guide and has great knowledge.  Herbert the manager will help you in any way you can and is extremely friendly.  Do not hesitate to stay here if you come to South Luangwa
