I liked this hostel. Had the 6 points I look for, Cheap, Good clean comfortable beds, Clean  hot showers, Big lockers, Individual socket and Good WiFi. All the rest doesn't matter to me but for all you who expect a penthouse for the price of a postage stamp, here you go.
You have go through the popular vegetarian restaurant on the ground floor into the kitchen to get to the hostel, up on the second, third and fourth floors, so lots of stairs. The staff with reasonably good English and the manager who speaks very good English were friendly and Very helpful. Some of the staff from the restaurant below also live here. The 8 bed AC dorm, was cleaned daily and comfortable but had no door only a curtain and isn't very spacious. The cleanliness also depends on who's staying at the time, some guests are pigs, others are not. Nice wide, thick mattresses, individual socket, light and large, you can fit 2 backpacks in, under bed lockers, which you can use your Own lock. Bathroom with only 2 hot showers and 2 toilets, which is also used by the customers and staff of the restaurant below, was spacious and cleaned daily but needs general maintenance, decorating etc as it looks kind of dirty even though it isn't. The single/double Ensuite room, with a fan and a big window, I also stayed in, was clean and spacious but extremely hot as the AC unit in the room doesn't work. The common area with books, games and WiFi TV is next to the 8 bed AC dorm so can get noisy at times, so can the street below. The rooftop garden is nice. WiFi was good in most areas. Laundry 25K. Smoking allowed on the roof or on the street. Plenty of food places and a morning produce street market right outside. Reception closes at 10pm. Motorbike parking on-site. Tours and Travel arranged. Intercity buses drop and pickup at different places around the city. 1km to Local Bus Station. 4km to Train Station. 8km to Airport. 700m to Bui Vien Street. 1.3km to Ben Thanh Market. 
This is a good basic hostel, no bar, no free beer, no bottled water, no fridge, no tea or coffee, no breakfast, no kitchen, no towel, no toiletries, no hair dryer, it's not a party hostel, no entertainment, the staff aren't going to mother you. If you want those things pay the higher price and stay somewhere else.

Good Basic Hostel 

1 star is 1 too many. Had a booking for a double room several days in advance, arrived to be told our room wasn't ready because it needed cleaning. We were offered dorm instead because cleaning would take a day or two!! They could have emailed us at any point to to save us getting there and walking up the 4 flights of stairs with heavy bags. They then refused to cancel the booking because agoda would charge them. Do yourself a favour a go elsewhere. 

Absolutely useless!! 

This was where i was before, now nearly all the staff is changed but there still be the same problems as before. It is not what i think that i should get. No breakfast or coffee for the five usd you pay. People here must not ask for too personal things.

Not much really what i though.

the bed is so big and thick , you can sleep 2 peoples together. so closed with packbacker area. Love the atmosphere here, staff were fun and friendly. Wifi and water for free, so great!!! 
highly recommend!

Very Comfy!

The location of the hostel is not that bad. It is very near to one of the two main markets and the touristic part of the city. But there isn't anyone working there after 10pm. And imagine arriving after this hour! I arrived around 12pm and had to find a bad by my own! Luckily the rooms were open and there were free beds.

Another thing is that the ground is a restaurant that hasn't much in common with the hostel, the reception is on the forth floor and there is only one bathroom with showers which is on the second floor.
