The rooms and the location are brilliant for seeing the sights of Hanoi. The staff however are what make this hotel. On arrival they could not have helped more. We decided to stay another night as we loved it so much. Highly recommend

For $20 a night, this  place is great value, the room is huge and the beds incredibly comfortable.

Central,location lean, fit 3 easily.    I only wished I had stayed here for the 3 days.

water pressure was fine nice hot showers, AC but I didn't need it for this time of the year.

Hanoi Corner Hotel

I hade read favorable reviews about the neighboring Charming Hotel and while staff there were very friendly the $22 windowless room was quickly usurped. For $18 a night, I settled into the Hanoi Corner Hotel, for four nights because of it's location in the old quarter, its big rooms with lots of windows, it's balcony, and the decent wifi (3 routers for the six rooms). The hotel was quiet. The family staff was friendly and helpful. Older sister is something of a travel agent and she seemed willing to spend time with people whether they were "clients" or not. Recommended.

Good value, good location, great staff

we paid USD25 for our room, and the room was huge and looked good, but the bathroom was a bit of a let down (typical of south east asia style where the shower wets the whole bathroom). this hotel was on the corner of hang manh and thai ben, above a travel agency. We stayed here after we booked tours to halong bay and sapa through them and had a day in between in hanoi, but we had stayed at charming hotel for our first 2 nights in hanoi for the same price and that hotel was better than this.

as a side note the tours we booked through the agency attached the the hotel were awesome!

Large room in old quarter Hanoi

Without recounting the whole story, which would be pointless, please be advised to stay far, far away from this property. Nicer inside than you'd expect from the reviews on TA, and with relatively spacious rooms, the real issue is the staff's behavior. We were lied to, misled, and eventually had our passports held hostage. I don't think they much care about their awful reputation, but please choose another option. I do hope they change their ways, and maybe they dont think their behavior is disturbing/unethical, but I was so shocked by the behavior I witnessed that I really recommend staying far away.
