This is a very clean hotel with helpful staff and smallish but  light and comfortable rooms. The inner courtyard with its plants and rooms leading off it is picturesque and is a modern reference to the old caravanserais . I was not bothered by people relaxing around tables on the raised, covered, balustraded end of this, but my room although on the ground floor opened onto the other end. Breakfasts were good. The location was fine, at the end of the narrow lanes leading into the very centre of Bukhara (5 mins.) but near to the wide leafy road leading to the more distant big bazar. I would happily stay here again.

Quiet and comfortable

This hotel is at the very entrance to the old city, facilities and rooms are good and the staff are helpful though there is no food at this hotel. A god location for walking into the old city,I would recomment it.

Good location

The Hotel Old City is located at the end of a series of alleyways through the old city that lead to the Labia Hauza main square. The hotel has charm, being built around an open air courtyard with some picnic tables. Our room was rather spartan but being immediately above reception we had wifi connectivity. The bathroom door didn't shut properly. The breakfast was quite reasonable. The staff spoke a little English but to arrange anything complicated (e.g. taxis) you had to speak Russian.

We had a good size room with 3 very hard beds.
Wifi is available but only really works in reception as appears to be standard with many Uzbekistan hotels.
Good aircon, fridge but ours didn't work.
The was a small in the bathroom,  we left the fan running 24/7 to be fair we didn't contact reception to ask for it to be sorted so don't know if it could have been.
Nice area to sit in put the back.

Beside the location and the in general ok room nothing really positive. Stayed her for only one night. We felt that the staff was not very friendly and welcoming. WiFi as mentioned in other posts was 90s. Breakfast was obviously prepared the evening before...sausage and pancakes on one plate are never a good deal!

Not worth the money

It is walking distance to many historical attractions
Love the structure, pretty much the atmosphere of the Uzbek culture
The room was pretty old! The room was filled with foul sewer smells!
Water was leaking out from beneath the toilet bowl!!!
We have to use air freshener every now and then.
The bottle was almost empty when we checked out the room the next morning
We have to keep the small window in the toilet opened!!!
Sat next to the modem and still could not get connected
This was really annoying!!!!

I stayed with a group in this hotel. During our stay many of us got our money stolen from the room. The thief only took some money, not all, so maybe even more people lost some money but did not notice it. When we reported this to the hotel owner, he simply accused us of not taking good care of our money. This is partly true since there is a safety box in the room an I did not use it but left the money in my (closed) bag. The hotel did nothing (even apologise) due to the theft and the owner was simply hostile against us. Not recommended.
