We really enjoyed staying at this Bed and Breakfast.  It is not your High rise or chain hotel, but a lovely Bed and breakfast in a very convenient location on the island.   The amenities are not fancy at all but we didn't need anything.  The breakfast  was a lovely experience.  Great location and fun meeting the owners daily

Harrington House stay

Great experience. Great central location on the gulf with great service and friendly staff. The cottage we stayed in was perfect, very clean and quiet. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants that perfect weekend getaway.

Very pleasant B&B

We visited AMI for the very first time  to celebrate an anniversary and it did not disappoint.  The Harrington House was perfect.  Our room had breathtaking ocean views, the charm of the inn was perfect.  Rather than eat out at a restaurant to celebrate our occasion, we ate on our own private deck watching the sunset just outside of our beautiful room.  We will definitely return and I highly recommend this beautiful hidden gem on AMI.

The View - Need I Say More?

Having stayed here last year it was obvious to us that we would return as we enjoyed a wonderful stay in the house last year and  staying in two different rooms on the top floor we had the benefit of the wonderful ocean view. 
However when we decided that we would spend a week on AMI this year we opted for a bungalow and chose bungalow 5 for its larger deck area. It was a very wise choice the bungalows are immaculate and so well equipped and  we were grateful for that little bit of extra space and the option to eat in should we choose which we did a couple of times. The pool near the bungalows was a nice alternative also yet it was only 5 minutes walk if we wanted to hang out at the main house.
What makes the Harrington House stand out is the exceptional staff who go out of their way to accommodate guests needs and who are so friendly knowledgeable and ready to chat and put guests at ease straight away. It is obvious why so many guests are returners.
We especially enjoyed chatting to Ann at breakfast each morning but would add  that all  of the staff are excellent.

Return Visit and just as good as last year

We have been visiting and staying at The Harrington House since the early 2000’s and feel like we are returning to see old friends.

We have always stayed in The Huth House but was not able to this time, as sadly, it is due for demolition and redeveloping - a sad goodbye to a wonderful old house. 

As we were visiting this time with our grown up son we chose to stay in one of the larger accommodations on offer, Dodt 3. This is a beach front, verandahed 3 bedroom apartment on the upper floor of a house next to the main accommodation.

It certainly offered us plenty of room to spread ourselves out with some quirky features but we did find it rather dark due to the wooden interior and decor.  We all agreed that it would benefit from a brighter, beachy theme.  However, this did not detract from the sensational verandah and the stunning beach views - both sunrises and sunsets.

As usual, the poolside breakfasts (included) were fabulous and as always a wonderful greeting from our friend Ann, who remembers us from visit to visit and full of great tips about the island.

I know things have to move with the times but please don’t change too much - we love you as you are.

Old Friends

Welcoming staff.  Great location.  Wonderful atmosphere. Very nice guest rooms and common areas.  Our room was charming.  I would definitely go back to the Harrington House again.  We have recommended it to our friends.

Wonderful B&B

Staying here is like staying with dear family or friends.  The individual attention to detail, the pleasant conversations with staff, the beauty of the surroundings and the rooms/bungalows cannot be beat.  We loved every moment of our stay at this delightful bed and breakfast!

A week in paradise

My friend and I were on a little road trip and decided to stay on Anne Marie Island. We had seen this place and were happy to find they had a vacancy. We got so much more than we expected. Nice spacious room with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was included -- cooked and served not a buffet. Beach chairs and towels were included. And to top it all off they had cookies and a water cooler in the dining area for you to enjoy at any time.

My husband and I love staying at bed and breakfasts and knew we wanted to stay at one ON the beach for our one-year wedding anniversary. I had been looking for a while and came accross the Harrington House and was sold immediately! We were happy with our stay, and will surely recommend and hope to be back for another anniversary trip in the future! 
We had chosen our room based on that we could stay for longer because it was a little cheaper, rather than a room with a view. We stayed in the Garden Room. It was very nice. Super spacious and private which is what we wanted. The only "con" I would mention to others looking and comparing the rooms... the bathroom is rather small, and when they say "step in shower", they literally mean step-in and don't move! lol. No but for real, that was my only con with our room, and if you're looking for less expensive room that is still super nice and cozy and private, but in the main house, and don't mind the tiny shower, then it's perfect! Next time I'd pick another room with a little bigger shower, I couldn't even move my arms to wash my hair. The super duper soft bath towels made up for that though ;-) 

The breakfast was yummy, but it's more of a "Customizable" hot breakfast rather than "cooked-to-order" as is implied. The chef makes a "hot plate" each morning and you can customize it somewhat, or order something else like cereal or a yogurt parfait. 

The area and location is PERFECT!!! Amazing beach literally a hop out the door, so close to food and bars etc. We loved that we could walk to all the places we wanted. We took the free island trolley once to see where it went and would recommend it. 

We took the bikes all over the island one day. Those are great option for guests.

The beach chairs and towels are great plus! Watched a couple beautiful sunsets. 

Everyone is SO nice and pleasant. Highly recommend.

Perfect, one-year anniversary beach bed and breakfast!

Our stay was terrific from check-in to check-out.  We were very tempted to extend our stay. Unfortunately we had un-refundable future plans. From the owners, waitress, to the chef all of our needs and desires were met. Would highly recommend staying here if your plans bring you anywhere close to Anna Maria/Holmes Beach.
