Well he rung my number I was in Chattanooga Tennessee several times after some foul words exchanged I made a trip over stayed 57 nights it was lovely David and I are now happily engaged they are very gay friendly

Absolutely horrendous! Avoid at all costs!

I'll be honest.  I've stayed all over the country over the last few years with work on a maximum budget of £60 per night and this is the worst place I've stayed to date.

What I would say is that the shower worked as did the central heating.  The food quality wasn't too bad either.

I probably wouldn't have left an honest review under normal circumstances but by the end of the stay I felt pretty annoyed about the whole thing.

On arrival we were given a speech that included not eating any smelly food in the room (we had no intention of doing so because we were eating in a restaurant, but this was a first for me despite my vast experience).  After that the  chap running the place showed us to our room, switching dark hall lights on as we went.  It was clear that these were to be switched off apart from passing through (odd- an LED lightbulb these days costs about 4p for 24hrs).  He then walked in our room which (following the speech about no smelly food etc) was surprisingly foisty and run down.  After the speech I anticipated that he'd just had the rooms decorated and wanted to protect them.  It was nothing horrific, but it just clearly hadn't been updated for several decades.  It all felt a bit awkward as we were all in this small room together receiving further instructions from him right there in our room.

The night was so so... the mattresses were extremely broken in and I got about 5hrs sleep as my daughters were cold in their beds so I swapped with them and they shared the double bed with my wife.

So far, it hadn't been great value but the morning came and breakfast, and this is where poor turned to terrible.  The chap running the show came to take our orders.  We typically order for our daughters because they're young, early primary school age.  To keep them occupied and quiet I gave my phone (on silent) to my daughter to play a game.  When he arrived to take her order he was clearly annoyed.  Rather than allowing us to simply order for the girls, he was pretty insistent that they told him directly.  It was a strange encounter.  He was stood uncomfortably close (about 1ft so even in normal times this would have felt strange) and insisted that my daughter talk directly to him rather than via us, her parents.  As she was talking to us and not giving him her full attention/respect he raised his voice and said loudly and overly assertively "talk to me!" then put his face around 1ft from hers!  It was so odd.  I felt really angry and nearly 'had a do' with him at this moment but didn't and let it go in hope of just getting our breakfast and clearing off.  My daughter was upset by this and it tainted the day.  After this he was making some rather loud disrespectful comments about Northerners from level 3 areas to other diners from the Midlands, clearly for our benefit.  (We're keyworkers who haven't got away in ages and haven't breached any rules, only advice.  Besides he's happily taken our booking and cash knowing our address).

The whole thing was strange.  It just felt like there was an attitude that you were saying in Buckingham Palace when in fact you're being provided with 2 star accommodation for a pretty 4 star price... plus we ended up leaving with a bad taste after the breakfast encounter.

£120 for a pretty nasty room and awkwardness.  At this price point, it didn't represent good value.

Our original booking near this premises has cancelled all bookings because of COVID19. We have to quickly search for an alternative to ensure our journey Re not affected. 
We took the first hotel with parking that is available at very short notice. We found this place, Brendan Chase. We spend a night at this premises.
On arrival I been told to park at front entrance area on the street. It did give me the displeasure as I was expecting an off road parking. ( And I parked at this space for 2 days without any problems).
We taking the top floor family room. The room is sufficient size and in reasonable condition but would need a more better cleaning as we found certain area being a bit dusty.  Being the family room we have a choice of various bed and it take me a bit of time to determine the  ed i am sleeping for the night. 
The following morning we had one of the best English breakfast for a long time as well as knowing a very friendly BB owner. 
The only down side for this place is the room is outdated and would need renovation rather than just  a coat of paint.

Reasonable bed and breakfast but outdated

We came here on the 12th Sept just for a break away and was not disappointed.. David was very friendly and helpful giving us a map and showing us some of the best places to go, The room was cosy and clean we had a ensuite which was spotless. I have to say that the bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in and did not want to get out of, the breakfast was very nice hot and filling, there was 17 bikers there also and we all went for breakfast at the same time and still the food was hot and we didn't wait long.. David apologised to us for our wait but it wasn't any longer than if we had been to a cafe.. We will definatly stay here again.

Clean and cosy

Stayed here on our way to Scotland. Guest house is ready for a spruce up. Our bed was like a hammock.!. Breakfast was OK tho and David was helpful and knowledgeable about the area.. Bit misleading about the on site parking. As you have to keep riding around the streets to find free parking!.. If I visited again I would stay in bowness. More going off. 

Quick stay

We stayed just one night in this gem of a Bed and Breakfast in Windermere. Slap bang in the heart of the town, it is an excellent and clean base from which to launch yourself at the Lakes. Great brekky and brilliant entertainment from the highly charismatic owner, David.

Great restful stay

Despite some of the differing views on this site, we found David to be an excellent host. Having requested accommodation from him at the last minute and over the busy holiday period, he found space for my family in short order and at a reasonable price.  Thank you David, you saved our holiday!

Me and my family had a lovely stay here. The host was attentive and helped us plan our stay with the best spots to go which was a huge help. We were in a shared bathroom which was our choice and was my only concern. The location and breakfast were amazing and I am very glad I chose to stay here after reading the initial bad reviews. Overall had a very pleasant stay and would recommend choosing smaller bnb rather than chain hotels.

Lovely place to stay

My mate and I are bikers and we visited Windermere on Saturday 18 July 2020. The hotel was booked for one night prior to us riding up from Northamptonshire. We were met by David, the owner, who directed us into out two parking spaces. His warm welcome was delightful. David then briefed us in accordance with the social and safe distancing rules. He took time to talk to us and he was great to listen to. Our twin room was very good. We knew it wasn’t en-suite prior to booking and that didn’t bother us. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The mattresses were of great quality, which afforded me a great nights sleep. Breakfast was superb! The best full English I’ve had in years. Our departure had us taking in another briefing from David on some great places to see and great roads to ride on our motorbikes. And he was right, they were great! I’ll definitely stay at Brendan Chase again. David, thank you for letting us stay in your house. You’re a great host and we wish you all the very best. John Cummins.
