stayed here again- my favourite place to stay near Dorchester, a great escape. .. peaceful, relaxing inobtrusive yet made to feel very welcome. thank you .  Will always choose this as my place to stay when in the area

lovely retreat

I booked all 3 rooms over the weekend as we were going to a family wedding in the area.  Our bedroom was the King room with a large Super King bed, very comfortable.  Our bathroom was also very large with a bath and large shower etc.  Kettle etc. with biscuits was also in the room.  The family room I booked for my son and partner including two children aqe 3 and 6.  Their room was lovely on the first floor, with a double bed and two singles.  Although I believe it can be turned into 4 singles and a double.  The shower room was just outside and again had a reasonable size shower but no bath.  My daughter had the room on the first floor with 2 single beds and that again was a lovely light room with a view of the pretty garden.  She used the bathroom just across the corridor.  Our host Janet who owns the B & B supplied a lovely home cooked breakfast with eggs from her hens at the bottom of the garden and tomatoes from her greenhouse.  All cooked beautifully and delicious.  I would mention that one of our party was gluten free and the other vegan.  Again, Janet coped very well with seeing we all had a nice breakfast.  We would not no hesitation in recommending this B & B and if we stayed there again when in the area we would book direct with Janet.  Thank you Janet, you were a great host and I do hope you write that book!!!!

Great location and so good to see good old fashioned quality service still exists, we were well looked after and the breakfast was superb, the rooms were very clean with ironed bed linen and we had a quality good nights sleep, we will definitely return and recommend

We stayed here for a wedding at Athelhampton House. It was very close to the venue. The owner was very welcoming and our family room was very spacious with a double and two single beds. Plenty of storage space and very light. I also noticed two extra mattresses could be pulled out. It was very quiet overnight and the shared bathroom was clean. The full English breakfast was nice the next morning. Would recommend.

Nice B&B

This place is priced by the person as it is large. I think there are smaller room sets available. Thanks to sat nav. we found it. Parking is to the side. The rooms were spotless, but a little dated. The bathrooms were good. The downstairs shower was great, once I had put on my thinking head and figured it out! Despite being near the road I had the best night`s sleep for months. Nice comfy beds, but not much room to hang up clothes though. Still we were only here for a night. Breakfast was cooked by our friendly hostess,and was very good the full range was available. A fridge, kettle and microwave was available for snacks, but having eaten at the Blue Vinny down the road [as recommended] we did not bother.

A pleasant Bed and Breakfast a little dated- but clean, friendly and roomy.

Room was a little dated with a shared bathroom.  The shower in bathroom although good was a little dated and could do with grouting and sealant replaced.  Advertised as a family room with TV.  Room large enough for 2 adults and 2 children, but was a little disappointed that the TV was not working, luckily we took a portable dvd [layer with us to keep the children amused on the car journey.  No offer to get someone in to look at the TV.

Breakfast was good with a choice of cereals and a cooked breakfast of high quality.
Have stayed in more reasonable B&B's with full amenities at a cheaper rate.
