Just stayed at this wonderful B&B. We cannot praise the proprietors, Bev and Mike enough. Our names were on a 'Welcome board' at the front when we arrived which was a nice touch.They only let one room and a lovely one it is too with its own balcony. There is a tray with almost every kind of tea or infusion you can imagine. We were served tea and cake when we arrived. Great selection of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit and orange juice to help yourself from on the breakfast table with a lovely cooked breakfast to follow. They have thought of everything. Nothing was too much bother.  If we have the opportunity we will certainly be back.

Better than a 5 star hotel

A very warm welcome and super friendly, kind, and considerate hostess.  Superb accommodation, location, and service. 
Minutes from the railway and a short walk from transport links. 

We were stranded the night before check-in and called Beverley because we did not know anyone or the area.  She came to our rescue.
Beyond excellent hostess skills, she is a very kind and compassionate human being.

What a place! Wonderful stay. Indeed, our second visit. So comfortable and welcoming. The breakfast was one of the best we've ever had. Highly recommended.
Can't be beaten. A fabulous location overlooking the Haverthwaite Railway, which is a marvellous backdrop to the property. It can be seen from the lovely balcony.

Wonderful overnight stay

Just come back from our fourth stay at Little Orchard with Bev and Mike and it was as wonderful as ever!! Bev and Mike can't do enough for you.  The room is spacious, modern, cosy and extremely clean with an extremely comfortable bed ensuring a good night's sleep.   The en-suite is amazing with an excellent shower and lovely clean fluffy towels (more than you could ever need!!).  The balcony has terrific views even on a dull day.  Bev makes you feel very welcome from the minute you arrive until, sadly, you come to leave.  Being welcomed with a special message on the board outside and hot tea and cakes is exactly what you need after a tiring journey.  It is even more enjoyable sitting on the balcony taking in the lovely views.  The breakfast is far better than most hotels and is served freshly cooked for you and piping hot.  The hospitality tray is overflowing with choices of teas and coffees.  Bottled water is also provided.  The B&B is in a good location for visiting the Lakeland Motor Museum, Lake Windermere, Ulverston, Cartmel and lots more. Bev and Mike have lots of local knowledge and can help with advice on where to go and where to eat etc.   We can't wait to go back! A stay not to be missed!

Another fantastic stay!

Cutting straight to the point, Little Orchard is a delight. We were greeted by a personal message and then our host, Bev. After being shown to our room we were offered tea/coffee and cake, I had the brownie - what a great start! The location is great, a short drive to Lake Windermere and a 15min drive to the beach. The was an air of VIPness to our stay as this B&B only has one guest room. The room was spacious, ultra clean and comfortable, up there with the best hotels. Lots of personal touches that were lovely. Breakfast was filling, fresh and tasty. Would I recommend? Most definitely. Would I stay again? Yep. Book and enjoy.
