An amazing weekend break away with friends. Wonderful rooms, great facilities, beautiful setting and very accommodating hosts. There was plenty to do both within the grounds and local area. It could not have been more perfect. Upper Court is a real gem.

Weekend away with friends.

I had the opportunity to stay at Upper Court for a birthday celebration.  The beautiful estate set in the Cotswold countryside is a perfect place for either large parties or smaller groups with a number of different room/building combinations. The estate has perfect facilities including fire pit, hot tub, pool and more to ensure you can relax.
Auriol is the perfect hostess and made us feel very welcome and even took us on a beautiful 10k walk up Bredon Hill.

Beautiful retreat with great hosts

We spent a wonderful weekend at Upper Court to celebrate a friend‘s 60th birthday. There were 40 of us in total and we were all perfectly housed within the wonderful rooms at Upper Court. The variety of rooms available was amazing. 

We shared the tennis court room which was a double room with a interconnecting triple bedroom for our son and daughter. It was very spacious, with a TV and sofa and plenty of room. The room was immaculately clean. We have to mention the amazing mattresses and pillows. I’ve never had such a good night sleep.  A particular highlight  in our area of the Courtyard cottages was the amazing lounge/dining room with a table big enough to seat 20 or more and plenty of comfy sofas. 

The grounds were a joy and although I walked around them many times I still found something different to look at every time. We enjoyed the tennis court, hot tub, swimming pool, sauna and the fire pit and ping-pong area were a great social area for everyone to, meet, drink (plenty!) and eat! 

We were a group of all ages ranging from two years old up to over 60s and we all had an amazing time. There was something to do for everybody but also all the spaces around allowed you to have time out if you fancied just sitting and chilling with a book or just soaking up the lovely grounds. 

Definitely a little jewel in the Cotswold Crown, which we would highly recommend for parties of whatever size/age to enjoy!

We just need another occasion to arrange a visit for! We will definitely be back 🥰

What a fantastic place! We had booked the whole house & cottages for a very memorable weekend 60th celebration with family and friends. A lovely house in truly beautiful grounds with fantastic hosts and staff.

The rooms are lovely and very spacious. The bedding in particular is amazing, everyone remarked how well they slept. Bathrooms were clean, stylish and well stocked with good showers/baths and no shortage of hot water. And nice to have generous wardrobe space. Each room had access to tea/coffee and a platter of homemade biscuits for snacking.

The reception rooms and kitchens - plenty of all of them - were equally spacious and comfortable, though as the weather was so nice we spent considerable time in the outside spaces and grounds. The house is full of all kinds of artwork, pottery, curios and collections - that provides a warming homely feel and interesting talking points, especially the pictures in the main house back staircase!

As we had booked all the rooms we had use of the heated covered pool, sauna, wood fired hot tub, firepit area, croquet lawn, tennis courts, gardens and the gallery room. Great facilities which we made full use of. The gallery room allowed 40 of us to eat together for evening and breakfast, and provided a great party space for dancing into the night with music from a local DJ. 

Auriol, as well as a marvellous host, was our guide for a walk up Bredon Hill, which I can thoroughly recommend. Fantastic views from the summit, and a lovely trek up and back down in a circular route through fields and forest.

Overall a fantastic weekend. And credit to my amazing wife for organising everything so smoothly.

Memorable 60th celebration at fantastic venue

What an outstanding place! Fantastic property, great rooms, beautiful grounds, extremely accommodating and helpful hosts, and in a beautiful location. We stayed with 30 odd friends for a 60th birthday party and absolutely loved it. Can’t recommend Upper Court highly enough.

Outstanding venue for large birthday gathering

We wanted a place to celebrate Mum’s 90th birthday and Upper Court enable us to do this. 
We had a lovely time in the Coach House with 13 guests, with others visiting for the day.  The family felt at home here and were able to relax in comfortable surroundings. 

The kitchen facilites were not as good as we were led to believe on the website.  No baking trays, scissors, sharp knives and not much prep space for the amount of people we catered for. However any issues we had, they were very quick to respond. Beautifully laid out but not practical. 

Plenty of space in the lounge with a great long table to have meals for all of us at.  We did have to remove some rugs as they proved to be a trip hazard.  Bit confused as to why the underfloor heating did not extend into the lounge which would have made it a little more warm and welcoming. 

Suggest in the hall that they get a shoe rack as it was chaos when we all took our shoes off as requested to not wear in the rest of the house. Plus the stair gate was at the top which allowed the dog to run up and down it. For child safety stair gates needed top & bottom. 

Had an excellent time playing croquet and table tennis.   Having the pool under cover was great and we enjoyed swimming as often as we could. 

Staff were lovely and friendly. Gave us grapes from their vine and figs from their tree.  Always happy to chat whenever we saw them on site. 

We would all love to go back, just to have to find a reason to celebrate together.

Family 90th birthday

Visited Upper Court for a hen weekend. A lovely place with wonderful grounds to walk round and the bedrooms have all the old, beautiful beams. Plenty of things to do there, such as using the swimming pool, sauna, rowing on the lake, fire pit and hot tub. Recommended for a large group and also a couple.

Lovely property

A memorable time celebrating my mum’s 80th. I especially appreciate the way our hosts were very hands on in dealing with the numerous hurdles that come with the territory of large group events, such as last minute changes and specific requests. They (our hosts - Auriol and family, Lindy and family and Katherine as well as the church family next door, who were so welcoming in hosting a thanksgiving service on the Sunday), were tireless, gracious and accommodating in too many ways to list here. Oh and the sun came out just in time for our outdoor barbecue event. My only regret is that I was too busy with the celebration activities to go boating, play tennis, swim, go in the hot tub under the stars, do pottery or go on the long walk (which some of my party enjoyed). I did play table tennis and go on a short walk to the secret garden though. It just means that we’ll have to come back again. 

The sun came out for a memorable 80th at Upper Court

A thoroughly charming property with the most beautiful country gardens, exquisitely manicured lawns, scenic lake and loads and loads of places to lounge around outside, even the weather co-operated towards the end of our week there.  We went with a v large family for my mothers 80th birthday and it met all our needs. The group ranged from 6-80 years of age and there there was something to keep everyone occupied for a week that we barely left the estate! From the heated swimming pool to the newly surfaced tennis courts, table tennis, croquet, boating and glamping facilities an amazing time was had by all. The hosts were especially gracious and extremely relaxed and accommodating of all our asks which were many and varied and constantly changing including the delicious catering for the birthday party of over 40 guests which included lamb on a spit!  I cannot thank Upper Court more for their hospitality and warmth with special thanks to Auriol and Lindey! Our holiday was a thorough success and my mother had a very special time!

Charming Hospitality in Exquisite Surroundings

Upper Court is a remarkable place: a grand family home in a lovely village, where every room has a look and feel that only generations of good taste can achieve. The accomodation is generous, the rooms well-proportioned and beautifully furnished. The facilities here would grace a luxury hotel: they include tennis, swimming, a sauna, a hot pool, a lake, and extensive gardens. Breakfast, a generous spread with a cornucopia of home-grown fruit, is enough to last all day. Staying at Upper Court – for the second time -
 was an entirely delightful experience.
