This site is totally out of date 
The pub is under new ownership as of Xmas 2022 and the bad publicity is irrelevant. The new team are doing great  work. Threat steak and chips , Fish  and chips burgers last night with friends. Always worth a visit Carol and the team are very welcoming

Great meals ..the old feedback is out of date ..get along and try it

My wife and I went for dinner recently and had a very pleasant evening. The staff were attentive and the food was of a good pub standard with plenty of choice on the menus. The inside has a lovely country pub feel, and the open fires and lighting help contribute towards a cosy and relaxed atmosphere. We'd be more than happy to return again.

Great evening meal in a cosy setting

What has happened to King William ? Diet coke+ soda water with lime.  £6.50. Are you kidding.? Went for lunch, but really put off how the pub had changed and not for the better. Standard has slipped drastically.

Went there for Sunday lunch first and last for me for need a new chef now i can understand why the restaurant was empty on a Sunday. Raw beef blood-red no bacon in chicken Berger had to ask for several things that were missing poor menu not enough information about the food so its hit and miss when ordering won't be going back...

Poor service and food

Not as good under new management.had to wait ages for our meals a lot of items on menu were not available.will not go back again.much better when the painted lady owned it.staff were much more attentive then.

Family meal

It was so different from our experience from  going to the Willi the IV, Menus were not good, so very, very cold ( heaters not working) and he couldn’t be bothered to fix them. No wine or  drinks list, no bill, just told how much to pay.  For us we would not go back as really missed how it was but will find somewhere else. 

No effort made 

The King William IV is under new management and has had a good clean, its welcoming, spacious and great value for money. The menu has had an overhaul and the food is delicious. There is outdoor seating to the front and rear as well as a large dining area indoors. Highly recommended.

Under new management

Had a thoroughly lovely evening at the King Will very clean, welcoming and spacious with fantastic garden space. We had fish and chips and the chicken in a basket both were cooked to perfection. Can not believe the turn around since the change of management. So glad to finally have the village pub back and doing so well.

King Will

The pub has new management and they have certainly made some changes. The pub is clean, staff are friendly, smart and attentive and the food is delicious. A reasonable price too. This was my third visit and after trying the fish and chips, halloumi skewers, I now had the steak burger. All three have been really tasty, good quality ingredients and cooked fresh. Highly recommend a visit or to give this pub a second chance as it has definitely turned a corner. 

It’s back! 

We have now eaten here several times since full lockdown and the standard remains high. Had the burgers and cod and chips , following up with Affogato, and pastries ....all good. The garden was full of people on a summers evening all social distanced so the word is spreading. Keep it going 👍 I don’t have any interest in the pub ..l just live in the village ! Nice to see .
