We stayed here at the end of October as we were attending a friend's wedding in Penrith. Charming guest house with lovely hosts. Phil and his partner were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was spotlessly clean with a fantastic comfy bed. We had delicious breakfasts during our stay.
We would thoroughly recommend this guest house and we now have a base when visiting the Lakes.

We booked in for a 3 night stay. The hosts were great and really welcoming. This is a very cosy, clean and well equipped guest house. The breakfasts are extremely good and nothing is too much trouble. Great value for money and we will most definitely return.

Excellent facilities, nice accommodation and hosts, really enjoyed the breakfasts and attention to detail.
I’d asked for decaf coffee at first breakfast and later I got given more decaf sachets for the room. The ground floor twin room is ideal for anyone with disability as walk in wet shower room, loved the large bath towels too.

wow. wow. wow. this place is absolutely stunning. i dont know where to begin. from the second we parked the car to the second we got back in to leave was unbelievable. we truly thought this place was brand new from the cleanliness. the fixtures and fittings looked brand new even the skirting boards. everything is spotless. and looks brand new. the building is fab the bedrooms are luxurious decent matresses the bedding smells so fresh an is so soft. the bathrooms are beautiful. the owners are so so so friendly. down to earth and nothing is too much trouble. it truly is stunning. not one complaint. and she makes a mean poached egg. and her bathrooms definitely are NOT too small.!! everything was perfect. and it really was the cherry on my birthday cake for my weekend away. thank you so so much. 

Had a stop over on our trip to the Lake District. Perfect location, off road parking for motorbikes and a petrol station opposite for a quick morning getaway.
Very welcoming host, spotless accommodation and a great choice of breakfast in the morning.
Very enjoyable stay and great value

We stayed here for one night on our way to Scotland. The outside does not do it justice. Hosts were very welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable and the cooked breakfast was excellent. Parking was well organised by host.

Beautiful, spotless clean guest house. Phil, very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was better than a hotel breakfast . Wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we were in Penrith again. We stayed in a double room at the back of premises, comfy bed, lovely bed linen. En-suite had the choice if you wanted a bath or a shower.

Fantastic bed & breakfast stopped here for 1 night hosts were welcoming and very friendly the guest house was spotless , had everything we needed in the rooms and loads of space , breakfast was delicious with loads of options nothing was you much trouble  would 100% recommend

I stayed at the Ashberry Guest House for 3 weeks recently whilst away for work and I can honestly say that if and when I return to Penrith this is the place I'd want to return to.
The proprietors Vanda and Phil are just wonderful down to earth, salt of the earth, type of people who cannot do enough for you. They've found the perfect balance of being welcoming and also giving you space to enjoy your stay.
Each morning they prepared and served a wonderful breakfast, checking to make sure everything was okay and that we had sufficient food and drink. The place was always kept absolutely spotless in terms of cleanliness and tidiness and they were always on hand if you needed anything.
Being away from home for so long was hard but at the Ashberry they create an environment which feels 'home away from home' like and I honestly loved returning there each evening to settle down in my room. The bed was super comfortable and the room was spacious and airy.
I already miss staying at The Ashberry, but most of all I'll miss Vanda and Phil. They are great people.

Arrived here after a 4 hour drive from Inverness tired and hungry…..
We were greeted by the owner at the door who showed us in gave us recommendations for restaurants/pubs in the area - one of which was particularly good (Woodstone Pizza and Flame Grill). 
Before heading off we were shown to our room - very well looked after and the decor has been tastefully done. The shower and toilet area was a good size and the shower had good pressure. Both the bedroom and shower room were spotlessly clean! The bed was comfortable, the lighting good and there was also a good sized wardrobe. Tea and coffee making facilities were ample as well as complimentary biscuits!
Breakfast in the morning was delicious - we had a full English which was cooked to perfection along with toast (lots of choice of spreads including marmite)  orange/apple juice and tea and coffee. If full English isn’t what you fancy there was plenty of other choice.
All in all I really couldn’t fault our stay here - the owners were very friendly and helpful and I certainly will be visiting here again as well as recommending to others! Thank you Phil and Vanda for a lovely stay!!
